"Why didn't you tell me this before?" I asked, glaring at him.
"It was not important before." He said sheepishly. "But now … it would seem that your life is much more in danger than it was before and I thought you should know."
"Thank you for telling me," I said, sighing as I pressed my temples. "I really do have a lot to think it over."
"If you are worried about the memory loss, I am going to be here through it all, Meraki," Jude said, smiling at me.
"Sure," I said, but my mind was somewhere else entirely.
"You won't be able to do much," Ethan said suddenly, putting us off guard. "You know that, Jude."
"I will do what I can." He said, frowning. "Besides, I am not the one in line to take over the family business."
"There is a reason there are three sons from your family and why your father made sure to have sons specifically. Do not tell me that you do not know the reason for that."
