"Yes." He smiled brighter than the stars. "I started to fall for you slowly. I thought I would begin to feel jealous of you like I saw in movies. After all, you are the example of what my family wants, you just do not have any magic but not many people care about that.
"I never felt jealous though, even when you got along with my family more than I did. I just felt pride. And you ... you would always stir the conversation back to me, forcing them to pay attention to me as well.
"After that day, my father seemed to acknowledge me even more and even talked about me to his friends. Their children began to talk friendlier to me, though, I would never leave your side. I never could, especially when your magic never manifested. I refused to desert your side.
"I sound perfect," I mumbled, looking at the water below us with a sigh.
