Did you guys have that 'naked in school' nightmare?
Because honestly, I got something similar but instead of school, I was partially naked in a bookstore with only a gray v necked t-shirt as covering and everyone was laughing at me.
Leo and that stranger LAUGHED at me.
I kept convincing myself that it was a dream but I can't seem to open my eyes and wake myself and I was stuck until, thankfully, someone gripped my arm and woke me up. That angel of a person is...
I open my eyes to the sight of my angel-looking devil sister that have this bored and annoyed face she always have when dealing with me.
She's got this gorgeous cat-eyes and snobby face, but that's not the only interesting features she has.
She was leaning over me when she straightened her back and stood 6 ft. freaking tall that always gets other girls jealous of her.
Compared to her? I'm a dwarf that's always stuck to her shadow. I mean, everybody sees her first because she's so tall and all...
The act of being annoyed seems to run in the family, or I think it's just contagious. Because I think I am sporting the same look on her face right now, that, and a bird's nest of a hair, morning breath and maybe the occasional drool on the side of my mouth.
My sister crossed her arms to her chest, "Breakfast is served in the kitchen, get up or you can sit here and STARVE to death," she emphasized and went back on her steps.
"This is the first time we meet since Friday and you're already planning to starve me?" I sarcastically retorted and followed her to the kitchen.
She turned back, stopping me in my tracks and said, "Really? I thought you just arrived today? I'm sorry. I just didn't SEE you in the house."
Bitch. She purposely said that to irk and demean me and my abused height.
Before I could insult her back, my phone rang 'I'm sexy and I know it' and instantly I knew it was Leo calling.
I picked up my phone on the coffee table and answered it.
"Hey Leo, what's up?"
"I've got something to tell you," excitement clearly oozing from his voice.
"Well, what is it? Cut to the chase man, I'm hungry. And why are you calling so early? If I'm not awake now I could have been sleeping and you could have disturbed my beauty sleep," I mused.
"I've got some news I'm sure will make you E-C-S-T-A-T-I-C."
My stomach growled, "Again, I said cut to the chase," I groaned.
He momentarily paused, obviously for dramatic effect, "My dad started this Student Assistant Hiring Program and because you mentioned that you don't know what you're going to do in college, maybe if you apply as assistants for some of our workers, it may just give you the inspiration that you need. PLUS you are going to be paid for it, the salary is not that great, but you get the idea!" he explained in a heartbeat.
Thoughts are racing back and forth on my mind and I can't stop the excitement that is starting to course through my veins.
It's true that even though I'm on my senior year in high school, I have no clue of what I'm going to be in college so I opened up my mind to the great opportunity being student assistant might give me and happily accepted Leo's suggestion without a second thought.
"Leo that's awesome! I accept!" I practically squealed in delight.
He laughed, "Squeakers, you still need to submit your documents to the office and they will decide if you're qualified or not."
I can't even feel embarrassment right now and I'm blinded by intense excitement and pure bliss.
"Of course," I blurted. "I will submit my documents A-S-A-P!" I copied the way he was spelling letters and kept my uncontrollable emotions at bay.
"M'kay, talk to you later, bye."
"Bye," I replied and hung up the phone.
"You accepted Leo's job offer but you're not considering dad's offer?" my sister interjected. She was obviously eavesdropping on my conversation with Leo.
"I don't want to be involved with Dad and I don't want me to be working for him on his business," I defended.
If Leo's father have an advertising/production company, my dad owns himself a chain of hotels he inherited from his father. And if Leo was his father's heir, my sister is my father's heiress. But unlike Leo, Georgia thinks it's her responsibility to carry the company's burden onto her shoulders and is left with no choice, but not me, I won't be tied down with my father's company because I will make my own way into this world.
Georgia rolled her eyes.
"Please, what could you possibly do with an underachiever such as yourself? You're lucky dad is even considering you working for his company. I don't know what use he sees in you because I think you're practically useless, I mean, what have you done with your life so far besides slacking off?" she insulted me so easily that I think it comes naturally to her the same as breathing do.
I clenched my fists at my sides with tears dangerously trying to escape in my eyes.
I should say something to defend myself but I am frozen. I want to speak up but I can't open my mouth, I'm too hurt I can't seem to form words with my mouth. I'm afraid that if I speak, my voice will crack and will make things worse than it is. I'm pathetic.
My sister smirked, "Yeah, I thought so."
I looked down and gulped the sob that's threatening to break out of my mouth and slowly, walked myself right in front of my sister in the kitchen counter and stopped her glass as she was almost bringing it to her lips and mustered the last bit of dignity I have left.
"I am not useless!" I stared right at her eyes as I failed to keep in the tears that are now shamelessly rolling down my cheeks.
I softly let go of her glass, wiped the hurt on my face and stormed upstairs to my bedroom to hide and deal with my pain
