Chapter 2 - Poison ivy Chp2

Sage lands on an ambulance next to the hospital. He sticks his hand inside the passenger window and pulls 30 bucks out of the glove compartment. He walked and flew all the way here only to realize he didn't have any money.

Whoever was using the ambulance probably didn't even need it. Doctors are being paid 300,000 dollars a year ever since the act was written.

Annalise Miraness is on time just as planned. After waiting an hour he finally got to the front of the line, calculated in a way in which he would be in front of his good friend.

"Anna, I've got 30 bucks", Sagittarius said. "1.5 Liters," she answered, putting in the order. Sagittarius curled his long black hair in his hands, staring Annalise in her green eyes. "1.5 Liters," Annalise repeated. "Whatever you say." Sagittarius said while curling Anna's short crimson hair. She the only human he could think of touching. She was fair and has never lied in her 23 years of life. All other humans were scum, taking advantage of their authority in the Act.

A block away from the hospital was a small shack known for a certain product, Toxicodendron radicans, or more commonly known as Poison ivy.

"Yuro!" Sage called. A young vampire walked outside the shop carrying a crate of ivy. "Non-contaminated", Yuro confirmed. His curly gray hair and blue eyes was an obvious sign of his status. Every member of the Saki family greyed at 10 years old. This is also the reason Yuro is called Old Man by even those who were older then him.

He was very studious for only being 10 years of age. The complete opposite of his older sister.

There is no doubt in Sage's mind. He is going to inherit the Saki family company and all of it's money. They own a large plot of land where poison ivy grows and no one else can replicate it.

Some say Miriam in a secret love child because she possesses straight blonde hair, unlike the rest of her family.

Just another reason to hate her.

Yuro handed over the crate and repeated what he did every time he came, "no more than one leaf for every hundred milliliters." Sagittarius rolled his eyes and turned around. "Yea, Yea."

Poison ivy is a common vampire drug. You can dry the leaves and smoke them or grind them into powder or even extract their oil and put it into your blood. The stuff sells well and is easily digestible but most vampires poison humans with it because of our immunity. Just another reason why vampires are superior.

Black markets crave the stuff making the Saki family the 4th richest family on Drusilla land but they still insist on living in a small excuse of a house. That's what Sagittarius liked most about them. They were humble.

Sage sat in the shade of a tree as to not get moonburnt. Tonight's full moon was especially bright.

It was 9:15PM which means he had a couple minutes before he had to start deliveries. He took a leaf from the crate and started squeezing its oil into the hospital blood pouch. Suddenly a shade rested over his head and it was none other than Omar Upala, the human in charge of the SCAR program.

His bald head glistened in the moonlight. Sage had to cover his mouth to hide his laughter.

"I do believe you owe me some money, Sagittarius.", said the doctor. " I don't owe you anything" Sagittarius said, truly curious about what Omar could mean.

Omar starred into his eyes and then sighed. " Somehow my Midnight snack money was taken out of my ambulance; do you know where it could have gone?" Sage finally put two and two together. He stole Omar's money which meant he could be in trouble.

"No," Sagittarius answered," I don't know where your money went. I'll be sure to keep and eye out for it." Omar knew he was lying but also knew he hadn't drank his coffee yet so he left Sage alone.

Because of their conversation Sagittarius was late for deliveries. As vexing as deliveries were, an angry Yuro is worse.

He shifted into a bat and held the crate in his mouth using a thick twine. He knew the route by memory and began on his way, flying through the bustling streets. This was isn't the first time this has happened.
