Jerry Lee and Lily were both surprised to see Terry standing in front of them. The crowd went wild. Colt Smith was used to being the center of attention, but he understood the significance of Terry Lee's return. The prodigal son had returned.
Dan Hirono was not happy about this development. Jerry Lee and Lily Kwan had been a persistent problem for him in America. Terry had been a problem overseas. Terry's return meant that things were going to get worst for his future endeavors.
"Terry, over here," shouted a photographer looking for a picture.
"Terry! Terry! What have you been up to," asked a shrill female voice.
"Why are you here," asked a baritone voice.
"Terry, why did you come back," asked a melodious female voice.
"I came back because this is my home." Terry paused as there was a cheer from the Blackdragon students. "As for why I'm here, I have some personal business to attend to."
"Can you elaborate," another reporter asked.
"No. Besides there's a test that needs to conclude and Mr. Hirono should probably be leaving."
Everyone turned their attention toward Dan Hirono as he rose from the floor. He spit blood on the floor and frowned. He threw Terry's face mask on the ground.
"I won't forget this," Hirono said.
"I know you won't. It's going to be on the news and online forever. You're probably trending right now. #Hironobeatdown. Wait I know what it is. #blackdragonbeatshirono. No, I've got it. #coltsmithnewmovieidea," Terry said as he gave a thumbs up to Colt.
Colt smiled and returned the gesture. Dan Hirono's phone rang. He looked at it and grimaced in pain. He answered the phone as he left the dojo.
Karen cleared her throat. "Are you through pitching movie ideas and hashtags now?"
"Yes ma'am,"
"Good. We will proceed with the award ceremony."
=====
"Colt, how does it feel to finally have your black belt in Blackdragon Karate," the shrill voice asked.
"It feels great. I worked hard to earn it. Master Lee and Master Kwan are both great teachers."
"Colt, did you have anything to do with Terry Lee's return," the melodious voiced reporter asked.
"No. I think that I was more shocked than anyone to find out that I was sparring with Terry Lee. He's been like an urban legend."
"Colt are you planning on making a movie with Terry Lee," the baritone voice asked.
"That sounds like a good idea, but there are currently no plans for me to do a movie with Terry Lee. Although if he's interested I'd love to have a rematch with him."
After the media blitz, Colt got into his car. His chauffer closed the door and slid behind the wheel. Colt checked his phone as the car pulled off. He had a ton of messages and voicemails. His phone rang and he smiled as he looked at the caller id.
"Hey Charles. I take it you saw my test."
"God damn, Colt it was epic. You looked good and Terry Lee really put you over," his agent said.
"Yeah. I was slightly upset at first, but then I realized that it could be a good thing."
"Good thing," Charles asked with a laugh. "It was a phenomenal thing. As soon as Terry Lee was revealed and smacked around Hirono, it made you look even cooler and stronger. I received calls from all the major studios. They're all trying to get a script together for a movie with you and Terry Lee."
"Damn! That was fast," Colt said as he chuckled.
"Everyone wants to see that movie. I even received a couple of treatments that look promising. You and Terry Lee could be like the new Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan."
"I know that you're my agent and that you're supposed to be positive, but aren't you getting a little ahead of yourself."
"Colt, I believed in you when you were just a stuntman trying to become an actor. I believed in you when you said you wanted to do your own stunts. I believed that you could carry everything that I've gotten you. After watching you going toe to toe with the lost son of the Blackdragon Dojo, whose been whooping ass overseas for the last few years, I believe that you can shut down all of your naysayers with his help," Charles said.
"Let me get back to you. And thanks for always believing in me," Colt said as he ended the call.
Colt sighed and leaned his head against the window. He thought about his future and what his agent had said. The car stopped in front of his hotel. The chauffer opened his door. Colt started to walk away, but stopped as the chauffer closed the door.
"Hey, let me ask you something. If I did a movie with Terry Lee would you want to see it."
"Hell yeah! I wouldn't miss it for nothing," the chauffer replied instantly.
=====
"It's good to have you home. We missed you," Karen said as she gave Terry a big hug.
"We were always worried when we didn't hear from you, but you've grown into a strong fighter like your father," Lily said.
"I'm sorry for any worry that I've caused."
"Where have you been? What have you been doing," Karen asked.
"I've been a little bit of everywhere. I spent a lot of time searching for more techniques, speed and power."
"So, you gave up on Blackdragon Karate," Jerry asked with crossed arms.
"No. I didn't," Terry replied as he turned towards his older brother.
"What's with this 'Omega' style or technique that you're supposed to have? And when did you learn Hirono Karate?"
"Jerry, how many Hirono guys have you fought? You haven't picked up on any of their moves by now," Terry asked as he crossed his arms.
Jerry just looked at Terry and didn't answer the question. Karen smiled to herself. Lily giggled at Jerry's reaction and Terry's assertion.
"He does have a point. They are somewhat predictable to fight," Lily said.
"You still didn't say anything about 'Omega'," Jerry said.
"There's nothing to say. Every urban legend needs a myth or a hook. Let's leave it at that," Terry replied.
"Terry why did you stay away so long? Did you know that your mother was attacked," Lily asked.
Terry sighed and shifted feet. He looked at the floor. Jerry leaned back against a wall and looked at him silently. Terry looked at Karen sitting in a chair with her cane lying across her lap.
"I saw a news report about the robbery a few days after it happened. I was worried about you, but Jerry and Lily were with you so I knew that you'd be alright. Besides, Hiro wouldn't let me leave."
"Hiro? You mean Hiro Date," Karen asked as she rose from her chair.
"Yes."
"Wait! That guy that was John Lee's rival? The one who killed their master," Lily asked.
"Yes," Terry said as he looked at Lily.
"Terry, why were you with Hiro," Karen asked as she walked towards him.
"He was the only person that I knew who could potentially dodge bullets and he knows Blackdragon Karate. I found him and he finished training me," Terry said with a grimace.
"Did he hurt you," Lily asked.
"I've had a tougher trainer," Terry said as he looked at Karen.
"So... I've got a question." Jerry said as he stepped forward. "Can you dodge bullets?"
"I haven't been shot."
"Yet," Jerry added.
