Synopsis
This great book tells the story of a young girl, Barbara Marvel Jesus otherwise Babe, Barb, Barbie, Barbara or simply Marvel as she enjoys being called. Babe is a sixteen years old girl who had to move from a big city like Allentown to a remote Duncan Town. The previous year, she lost her father who was a rich, successful pilot before his death and left her a fortune. As if moving to Duncan Town wasn't enough, she had a pedophilic stepfather and a disturbed older stepbrother to deal with. Duncan high school was the only schooling option she had. Popular kids, bullies, the power-thirsty, attention seekers and a psychotic principal are all elements of Duncan high. The pressure for the only spot in an all-expenses-paid scholarship by a generous donor is the high and Babe has to do the unthinkable to get through. Will she stick to her morals or will she give in to desperation? Will Babe ever get her head up? Will she survive or will she perish? Will she fall and never rise again? Will everything she touches ever turn to gold? What happens when her stepfather gets a new habit? A new addiction? And her mum suffers from a life-threatening illness? What then she finds out the truth? ______________________________________ Know the truth and the truth shall set you free......or haunt you forever? Will she name and shame? Will her family ever survive the storm? Is she ready for a whole new responsibility? Will she rise above her problems? Will she have the last laugh? _________________________________ If there is one thing life has taught me, it's that not every story has a happy ending? - Bojuwoye Ayoola Babe's Diary is the book you should read this season. It's is realistic fiction, it talks about real-life issues and is directed to the general audiences. It's a book you can discover yourself in. The author brings you closer to the character and creates a connection such that you can substitute yourself in the book. There were times I found myself disagreeing with my own characters. It's like I am living the story and I think you should do the same, of course, it doesn't matter what I think....lol. I enjoyed writing this book so much and I hope you enjoy reading it. This book is # Child abuse # Romance # Teen # Tragedy. This book may be quite different from other books you have read but am positive in the end you will be glad reading it. I could rightly tag it the book of all times but I won't be so forward.... lmao. I'll leave you to decide, share this book if you agree. © This book is written by me @Bojuwoye Ayoola and is not a property of anyone but me. Chapter 1 - Introduction

My name is Barbara Marvel Jesus. I am sixteen years old

I have a mum and a younger sister named Makaela. My dad died in a plane crash four years ago, he was a pilot

I was very proud of my dad when he was alive, he was my best friend. I am not one of those girls who share a close bond with their mother

My parents were divorced, I lived with my father while Makaela lived with mum. I was ten when my parents divorced and my sister was four so she had to live with my mum as she is below five and can't decide where to live on her own.

I chose to live with my dad because he had always been my favourite and also because he promised that he wouldn't get remarried until I was about sixteen and that it will be to someone I approve of. I dread living with Mike my mum's husband and father of one son Simon

Mike owns a night club and has been seeing my mum before she even got divorced, he comes to our house when dad's away. Even though dad never said anything to me, I knew he had caught them together because the divorce happened so quickly and after the divorce, they haven't been speaking to each other. When dad wanted to see makaela or mum wanted to see me they would arrange to meet at a place and I would go with a driver.

After the divorce, dad didn't stay long at work anymore and we spent time together. We had a lot of hobbies in common so it wasn't so hard to bond

In the mornings dad would wake me up and we will say our prayers together, I would make his coffee, even though we had a maid, I prefer to make his coffee myself. Dad will then drive me to school after breakfast. I attend a girls day school about an hour drive from home. My driver Manuel picks me up from school and drops me at aunt Nellie's store. Aunt Nellie is my dad's younger sister who owns a kids store near our house. I go to her store after school because I have a lot of friends there and also because her snacks section serves the best scones and smoothies.

September 15, the day my dad died, I was coming from school later than usual because the driver came late. That day I didn't feel like going to aunt Nellie's so I told Manuel to drive me home. Manuel called aunt Nellie and said I wasn't coming and aunt Nellie told Manuel over the phone that she will be waiting at our house, this was weird. On my way home I thought I saw my dad in the bushes covered in a pool of blood, I screamed and Manuel had to stop the car. By the time he got down, I was crying and goosebumps appeared all over me

"What happened, "Manuel asked

"N-nn-othing" I answered

I couldn't see clearly but I think a spied a tear at the corner of Manuel's eye.

When we got to the gate of the estate we lived in, I ran down from the car and towards the streets crying, it took Manuel ten minutes to catch up with me and calm me down.

When we got home, Nana my nanny served me tea pet me to sleep

The next day I heard the news that my dad was dead

"May his gentle soul rest in peace"

"Amen. I am going to the mortuary to claim his remains"

"I feel pity for Marvel"

I screamed and burst into uncontrollable tears

My dad was laid to rest that day as is body was burnt and almost unidentifiable. I cried my eyes out for days. Aunt Nellie had to move to our house to take care of me.

My dad left my sister and I quite a fortune but we are not allowed to touch it until am twenty-five except my and my sister's education trust fund.

My aunt Nellie told me one day that she couldn't live with me anymore because she was travelling to Dubai and can't take me along because of my education.

I was distraught because I knew that meant I had to live with my mum

I just finished my second year of Senior high school. Living with mum means live with Simon and changing environment,

changing environment meant changing school.

Update: moving to Duncan town

Xoxo: Marvel.
