Chapter 35 - CHAPTER THIRTY FIVE

Gormush lowered his body, touching the wet ground and closing his eyes. "I don't sense anyone, my lord." He said, opening his eyes and looking up at Lucifer, who was walking in circles, playing with his sword.

"I see. I'm quite disappointed. I was expecting him to announce his loss to the Old One. Maybe his pride was too hurt and he didn't say anything about losing his Demon Destroyer to me. Well... they will be surprised."

The Rakshasha smiled, getting to his feet and placing his hands at his back. "I do believe he's way too prideful. The only encounter I had with him was outside a mall and he was hanging out with a human girl. The succubus saved him that day... if she didn't appear, I could..."

"You're prideful as well, demon. Stop talking. You're annoying."

Gormush almost swallowed his tongue, widening his eyes. He was scared of Lucifer, the Fallen, and now, when he had Satoshi's powerful sword, the well-known Demon Destroyer... he was far more dangerous than before. He needed patience and carefulness. He couldn't take a step wrong...

"Now, now, now... Should I visit my beloved old friend? Is the Old One staying in that ancient room like at the beginning of hell?"

"Yes, my lord. He's still there. He's not leaving the room. Not even when the dimensions almost got destroyed. He sent his pet. Satoshi."

Lucifer nodded, expressionless. "I see. Is your coalition strong enough to beat the gatekeepers?"

Gormush smiled arrogantly, pushing out his chest. "Of course. We didn't expect the succubus to help Satoshi when we sent our hellhounds. We thought she was just visiting the city. After that defeat, we planned to ambush him within his house, but... my lord, you were faster than us. And as you made a deal with them... we had to let them go."

"I know, I know. I don't need your explanations. I just need an army. I'm gonna destroy the hell and the heaven. The earth can exist for all I care. But those idiot demons... and those arrogant angels... and these pitiful humans... ugh, you know what? I changed my mind. I'm going to destroy heaven and then torture the humans. I'm gonna send all of them straight to hell. And torture each of them personally."

Gormush gulped involuntarily. "My lord... this sounds... a bit exhausting."

"It is, it is, but you know... 'there ain't no rest for the wicked'!"

Lucifer spread out his arms, throwing him a devilish grin as he walked towards a mirror. "This might do."

"I think we should wait until midnight. That's when they open the gates for the souls who have been judged. They will be too busy with the souls gathering and we will have the surprise element."

Lucifer threw him a quick look and nodded his head. "That's wise of you, Rakshasha..."

Out of nowhere, a man jumped on Lucifer, trying to undress him. Gormush prepared his sword, but there was no need for it. Lucifer threw away the human and stabbed him with his sword right into his heart. The human's face's colour went grey and his body transformed into aches. Lucifer got to his feet and smiled at the pile of clothes on the ground. "What a fool. Well. I made him a favour. Better dead than homeless."

Gormush sighed, crossing his arms over his chest after he placed his sword on his back. "I don't think this location is really good. The humans will disturb us. Especially the homeless ones. We're staying right next to these bins which are regularly searched by homeless humans."

"Do I look like I care, Rakshasha?" Gormush sighed again and said nothing. "Now, stop annoying me. It's almost time. Come closer to this mirror."

Gormush obeyed his commands and came closer to Lucifer and the mirror which was leant against one of the huge bins. He threw a quick look at his watch. Five minutes left.

A weird sound made Gormush prick up his ears. Something is not right.

"My lord..." He started saying, but his head flew away from his body, which fell on the ground, with a disgusting, loud sound.

Lucifer widened his eyes, staring at Gormush's inert body. He then raised his head, looking into the criminal's eyes.

He took a few steps back, involuntarily.

For the first time in his entire life, Lucifer was scared.

Terrified.

Frightened.

"What... what are you doing here... you were supposed to be dead."

The black-haired demon smiled and narrowed his red eyes. "Supposed being the keyword, Lucifer. Now... what do we have here? Is this what I think it is?"

Lucifer drew a deep breath, getting a firm grip on the sword. "Maybe it is."

"Oh. That's rude. Now... shouldn't that sword be mine? If my... 'master' is not around, then the sword should be given to his student. Don't you think?"

The demon got closer to Lucifer, making him sweat nervously. Why am I like this? I'm the strongest! I'm the Fallen One!

Lucifer blinked and then in front of his eyes, two angry, bloody rivers appeared. "You might think you're the strongest, Fallen. But you have no idea what a fox demon is." He said as he slit Lucifer's throat.

Lucifer widened his eyes and fell on the ground like a rock. He stopped moving. His open eyes turned glossy, as blood was trickling down his throat and mouth.

The demon threw him a disgusted look and then took the Demon Destroyer from his hand. "Such a good sword... How could he give it to this pathetic thing... Where are you, Satoshi-san?"
