Next day around noon, Mark was cruising in one of his sports cars while his mind was playing the scene from the previous night on a loop.
Previous night.....
"Am I right if I say Grimwald?"
After Mark's question, Brad was stunned that this guy knew the name of the forbidden organization, as it is literally forbidden for even members like him to say the name out into the public.
The guy in front of him must be someone powerful and influential to know this....were the thoughts of Brad and he shuddered when he saw the devious look on the man's face in front of him.
Brad steeled his heart and answered, "Who the hell are you?"
Mark just smiled mysteriously and said, "As I have said before, You don't need to know that. Just answer me if I'm right about what I asked and we will be done here".
As soon as the man held captive gave an affirmative nod, Mark did not hesitate to pull out his gun and put a swift bullet into his forehead, giving him a quick death.
Mark came out of his daze when he heard other vehicles honking at him for staying in the same spot even after the lights had turned green.
'Tsk! Idiots' lamented the guy who was lost in his thoughts in the midst of a traffic signal.
'I just hope that nobody comes looking for that dead man from his organization. But who am I kidding! There's no way they would keep quite when one of their dogs disappeared while on a crucial mission' were his thoughts before he parked his car in a restaurants' parking lot.
The place where he decided to have lunch with his friend Jake was a michelin star restaurant famous among major gourmets in the city.
Arriving at the private room that had been booked by Jake, without any formalities, Mark entered making the two people who were making out inside the room to stop and look at the person who dared to interrupt their make-out session.
Upon seeing that it was Mark, Jake immediately distanced himself from the waitress with whom he was fooling around and cleared his throat, coughing lightly.
Mark gave a disgusting look at both of them while taking his seat across the two people, while the waitress seemed to have not noticed the dirty look which the newly entered person gave them.
She practically drooled over the handsome and mysterious man who entered the room, whom she haven't seen here before.
Jake noticed the same and immediately ordered sternly to the waitress to get lost, since he knew his friend hated that.
After finishing their meal, Mark decided that it was time to include his friend in the ongoing war with those scum of the earth.
"Listen to me Jake, and listen closely!" said Mark in a stoic manner.
Jake knew, this was a sign that told that his friend meant business and sat straight to listen whatever he was going to say.
After making sure that he had Jake's full attention, Mark started saying, "There is a nasty bunch of people who are wrecking havoc around the globe with their garbage conspiracies.
As of this moment, it is difficult to ascertain what their motivation is, but I can assure you that whatever it is, its not going to end well".
Mark stopped for a moment and examined his friend carefully to know if he has absorbed the information being spread out in front of him.
After seeing Jake nod his head, Mark continued his briefing, "I can't tell you their name yet. But currently, they have infiltrated our country's Defense Department, don't know for what reason. But I believe they are looking for our country's people who are deep undercover all over the world."
Mark decided to keep his involvement a secret since it was unnecessary to confuse his poor friend with all the info at once.
"Wait a sec! That means today the news about our country's DOD being under the radar of central investigation because of the Defense Secretary's slip up is related to all this you are telling me?" Jake exclaimed in between Mark's briefing.
"Correct. That was me delivering the evidence that our Department of Defense was infested by rats and the lady you followed yesterday was a dangerous one who, it seems is at the center of everything that is happening." answered Mark.
Jake's face fell drastically when he remembered how the sexy lady yesterday tricked him and his boys so easily.
Noticing his friends' gloominess, Mark sighed and assured Jake, "Hey! Don't take it to heart. I believe she is a highly trained member of that group.
Even I might have been unable to keep up with her trail if it was me in your place. Let it go. Now here's how we are gonna proceed further."
"And how exactly do you know any of this?" questioned Jake skeptically.
Mark replied in a calm manner, "I will tell you everything when the time is right. But for now, just trust me, okay?"
Just like that, Jake trusted his best friend whom he treated as his brother as they continued their discussion.
After discussing the further plans, both the friends got up to leave as soon as they were done paying.
"Jake" Mark called his name when they were in the parking lot, and continued further, "Be careful and remember what we discussed earlier is supposed to remain between us.
No opening your mouth in front of any of your stupid dates. And please, definitely don't go trying to seduce that lady for hurting your pride. It will do more harm than good to us if she is on to us".
Jake playfully grinned and nodded his head and reassured his friend with not doing anything stupid.
Both the friends went their separate ways after saying their goodbyes.
Mark looked at the sixty floors majestic building, as drove his car towards it, with sharp eyes as the top of the building was proudly showing 'SM INVESTMENT GROUP' and parked his car in the underground parking lot as the security didn't dare stop the vehicle which had a crest of Sebastian family on the number plate.
Mark got down from his car and started walking towards the special executive elevator as a thought swirled in his mind 'It's high time I put everything and everyone in their place as of this moment'
After checking his desert eagle and putting it back in his suit he went inside the elevator as it started ascending upwards to the top floor of the building.
