Chapter 24 - A New Weapon And A Bad Idea

"Man, that's one long backstory." Zeke thought to himself as the transmission finally ended.

"So that brute is actually the sister of Miss Sylvia." Zeke continued, placing the connections that he has found thus far.

There are now various characters that have come to the scene and, even the ones whom he have not yet met personally are crucial to the collected information he is piecing together.

King Aeolus, General Erio, Hark the Blademaster, Sylvia the Master Sorceress, Sylph the younger sister, and Glade who seem to be her assistant.

"I can't just storm the city with only this much knowledge." Zeke thought to himself and just placed a note on the information thus far. Then, he continued going through the notifications.

[You have successfully cleared the Sub Quest - Find the Viper Bandits' Headquarters.]

[5 Skill Points are given as a reward.]

[You have successfully cleared the Sub Quest - Destroy the Main headquarters]

[Map to the - Ruined City - has been added to the internal memory storage of the system.]

"What's this?" Zeke pressed on the new map he obtained and, found a place that is covered by shadows inside the minimap. This means that, the whole area around it is not a place that Zeke has explored before and, even adding to the problem is that the [Ruined City] is right in the middle of the four continents.

"How the hell am I even supposed to go there?" He thought, gaining a new problem with this map.

[A Main Quest has been added.]

[Main Quest: Enter the Ruined City]

"Huh?" Zeke got shocked about the new notification that came up. The normal thing that happens in these sorts of games is that, there can only be a single [Main Quest].

Other quests can be [Sub Quests] connected to the main quest, [Optional Quests] that a player can choose not to perform, or [Expiring Quests] which has a time limit. But, something like having two main quests at the same time isn't something that he has ever heard of.

"What's going on here?" Zeke thought to himself, getting a bit distracted from his initial goal of defeating the [Evil King].

He, of course, left his questions for later. There aren't any information available for him at the moment and so, thinking about the [Ruined City] will be nothing more than a waste of time.

The next window that popped up is his level. With all the fights that occurred, his level has risen to [30], gaining another patch and, giving him more privileges. One of these is the upgrade of the [Conjure System]. This gave the skill a higher probability of creating monsters from the corpses of stronger opponents. The other updates are as follows:

[System Feature: Gamer's Body]

[Information: While the player may experience physical wounds and damage, he will never feel any pain. However, he can still die if vital parts of his body. Examples of these are the heart, the brain, or a decapitation of the head.]

Other updates of the system are simply new skills on the shop, a higher percentage when crafting items and looting, a better chance of success in combining skills, and a video chat option.

With a lot of time still on his side, Zeke decided to forge the weapon [Jut'zal Zht'ais Staff]. Having this item would give Allesiah a huge power up seeing how she is still using an [F] ranked staff.

The process of repairing a weapon is simple, Zeke only needs to place other items inside the crafting window. These will be consumed by the item that will be renewed. The amount of durability that returns is highly dependent on the grade of the item sacrificed for repair.

During the process, there were a lot of items that broke but, Zeke was able to restore the staff to its full capacity. And he didn't stop there. He went even further, crafting a better version of the staff. This broke a lot of items as the crafting would fail from time to time but, in the end, Zeke got his intended result. Getting this new weapon:

[Item Name: Staff of the Ancients]

[Usage Level Requirement: 25]

[Durability: 100]

[Rank: D+]

[Information: A weapon that is said to be formed by forcing natural calamities inside it. The weapon allows the user to have a clearer state of mind (20%) in any situation. The user also gains an amplification of every spell used by 15%.]

[Weapon's Passive Skill: Mana Collection]

[Information: Allows the user to manipulate mana and to collect mana from the surroundings.]

"I must say, this is a nice weapon for my first try." Zeke told himself, almost using up all the items in his inventory as he finished the staff.

He viewed at his craftsmanship and smiled at how refined the weapon looks. It is made from what seems to be white marble and yet, the staff is light. The item is also sturdy making it a possible weapon for blocking melee opponents if they come close.

The design of the staff are two dragons coiling themselves together. On top is a red crystal bitten by the said figures. One can even see the scales of the dragon on the staff, making it look even more awesome.

"This is perfect for Allesiah." Zeke thought.

Apart from playing games and being part of the action, Zeke also enjoyed going around games and simply collecting things. The atmosphere of gaming can be suffocating sometimes and so, he finds solace in simple activities such as this.

Another reason why he loves crafting and collecting is because, if he gets a legendary item or if he is able to craft one, there is the feeling of overwhelming joy. But, even if he doesn't create one, there is no feeling of defeat as the chances are within the intended parameters.

"I guess this means that I'm done for now." Zeke told himself. But before he could even close his eyes, the [Gamer's System] gave another [Notification].

[Sub Quest: Reunite the Windsrpite Sisters]

[Reward: 20 Skill Points]

And at this, Zeke finally went to sleep.

"Masteeeer!" Allesiah shouted trying her best to cling to Zeke.

"Hey stop that, it's an embarrassing sight for woman who aims to be the top sorceress!" Zeke said, dodging every attempt of Allesiah to hug him.

"But master!" Allesiah said, now on the ground and hugging the new staff that Zeke just gave her.

"This isn't any ordinary staff! Do you even know how difficult it is to get an item that goes beyond D rank? Only nobles get their hands on these things!" Allesiah said, making a swift move to try and hug her master again.

Zeke dodged of course, seeing all the movements of Allesiah quite clearly.

"I have no idea actually. But if you say that its important then, all I ask in return is that you answer my questions."

"What would those be?" Allesiah asked.

"I think you already know." Zeke responded; making the atmosphere turn silent for a second.

The joy on Allesiah's lips completely vanished and, it is replaced by a look of sadness. She looked out of the window, holding on to her new staff even tighter as she began giving the information.

Apparently, Allesiah was once a part of a noble family inside the capital of Elysium. And it isn't any common nobility. It is the house of the Windsprites. The elves which are thought to be one of the strongest there is.

Apart from this is the fact that, a member of the household was once engaged to the King. A person whom Zeke has already met in person – Sylvia Windsprite.

Allesiah explained that, the female elf they encountered in the forest and, Sylvia are both her sisters. Sylvia is the eldest, Sylph is the second born while, Allesiah is the last child.

Among the three, Sylvia had the most potential in magic. Then, there is Sylph who is the most proficient in archery. Meanwhile, Allesiah lived on the scraps of her sisters. She is completely incompetent when it comes to archery and, her magic power is nothing but mediocre.

This caused her to run away from their home. Promising that, she won't return until she becomes the strongest sorceress in the land. A woman whom both of her older sisters can approve and proudly call as their sibling.

But then, disaster struck as her eldest sister got taken by a human rebel. Meanwhile, her second sister got sent to the woods in order to lead the [Wood Scouts], a special elite force of archers that serves as the guardians of the forest.

Because of this, Allesiah found it even harder to return. After all, there is nothing for her to return to if both her sisters are not in the capital.

"Then why didn't you even hug her when you met?" Zeke asked.

"As if it's that simple." She replied.

"Isn't it?" Zeke continued.

"Master…my eldest sister got taken by a human being. The ones who revolted against the capital are also human beings. And upon seeing me for the first time in years, she finds me going to a human just like sister Sylvia. If she sees this slave mark, she'd be furious and kill you on the spot." Allesiah finished.

"She's still your sister though." Zeke replied.

Allesiah didn't reply anymore. Her mood turned completely sour, making Zeke feel bad for the topic he brought up.

"Okay that settles it!" He shouted, making Allesiah look at him nervously.

If there's one thing she has immediately learned, it's that – if her master is in good spirits, it's not going to lead them into something safe.

"We're going back to the forest to confront your sister!" Zeke finished.

"I knew it." Allesiah thought to herself, sighing as she just accepted this fact.

"It's not like I have a choice on this." Allesiah replied, getting a strange feeling of relief on the idea of finally being able to be with her sister.
