Our tenth pup was already inside of my little mate. She looks like she is glowing. She catches me looking at her and smiles. She is training the Lunas in the art of battle. We both know that if one of them decides to fight for real it could be dangerous for Selene. Each time she was one on one I would be focused on her. The Lunas were all in awe of her. It only takes one cocky bitch to make my mate get hurt, but she watches her back closely.
I have been watching the group and I see the one who keeps looking at me. She's the one. The cocky bitch that wants to be queen. The others all know that they couldn't do what Raven does. When training is over I announce to the group that lunch is served. I cuddle Raven against me and whisper in her ear she has a traitor. "I know honey but I promise I won't let Selene get hurt.", she says.
I feed her as she sits in my lap. The oldest Luna stands and clicks her glass to get attention. "I would like to congratulate our Monarch on their upcoming pup.", she says. "Thank you Luna. We are very excited about having another pup. The Moon Goddess has blessed us beyond any normal means. We are very thankful.", my mate announced.
The bitch speaks up, "Your majesty you were fighting in your condition. Don't you think that is dangerous?" My Mate stood to speak, "If any shewolf thinks that she deserves to be Queen then she is welcome to fight for it. I will protect both my pup and my reign. My pup was never in any real danger." My mate places her hand on my cheek before I said, "Any shewolf that tries to pick a fight with a pregnant Queen isn't fit for the role in the first place. Plus Raven is my Moon given mate. She is in her Moon given role where she belongs. Anyone who questions that is deserving of the death it will bring."
The bitch eats her lunch along with all the Lunas and then all of them go to our spa. Raven stays put in my lap. We talk about the Luna bitch and I make an appointment with her mate. If he wants to keep her then he better get her in line. She needs to be made aware that it is death because she will lose. Raven isn't just a skilled Luna or pretty Queen, she is a skilled warrior.
Raven goes up to our room for a nap while the Beta goes on a run with the Lunas. Jennifer is made aware of the bitch in question. She plans to give them a warrior run. The run my mate does in her human form every day. I plan to watch the take off with my warriors. They will be there to help the Lunas get back who can't make the run.
Jennifer instructs the Lunas, "Lunas, this run is brutal and your queen runs it daily in human form. I would like for you to push your human form until you are exhausted before you shift to your wolf. If at any point you need to stop signal a warrior to help you back. The warriors will pair up to lead a Luna back so your mate will not be jealous. Water stops are along the way. Ok, let's go."
The Lunas head out and I know from experience they won't return for hours. Jennifer can make it with Raven in 2 hours, these Lunas might be able to push 3. Jennifer thinks that they will all drop out or shift before the 10 mile range. This is why Raven has such strength she runs her 12 every day in human form, she trains in some way 3 days a week, and she has many responsibilities as well.
Selene will be well cared for in her mommy's tummy. I have no worries. After they leave I have a meeting then I plan to check in on Raven. I ask cook for almonds, cantaloupe and sharpe cheese bites to be brought up in 40 minutes. Then I get to my office just in time to meet with the Alpha's.
The Alpha's are here to talk about a plan to train our pups. I want to change how it is done. I bring our Grant out to the training grounds. "My pup Grant is 3, soon to be 4. He is in year 2 of his training. (This brings gasps of surprise) I want to show you what he is capable of.", I say. I sit Grant down on the ground before I call over a second year teenage boy and a 4th year teenage boy.
"Wait you don't expect us to believe that this pup can go against these wolves?", one older Alpha questions. "I do indeed.", I reply. "Grant will you demonstrate please?", I ask. "Yes, Pa.", Grant says.
The two teens take turns fighting Grant. He knocks out both boys in human form. Then I say to the Alpha who questioned the ability, "Would you care to fight my pup?" The Alpha looks at Grant and replies, "Nah, the little one is fast and strong, I can see that." Grant shakes hands with all the Alpha's before Samsin comes over to take him back to the nursery school.
"She smells different your majesty. Is she the one who trains your pup?", a young Alpha ask. "Samsin is a watcher and yes she trains all of my pups.This is why I want to have all pups begin to train. I feel like it is our responsibility to help our future packs be stronger. Please think about it and if you want your pups to train we can set it up so you can receive the best training for them. Then we can begin training all pups.", I say to them all.
Raven is still sleeping when I arrive. The tray of snacks and cold water beside the bed. I lay down beside her and wake her gently. I feed her some snacks holding her against my chest as we sit to talk. I make sure she knows that I will take care of her and Selene.
"Will, I know that Selene is special I just want when she gets here for all of our pups know they are loved and special. Please don't treat her differently. I don't want any jealousy in our pups. I want them all to know they were born for a purpose. We live in peace but they will need to rely upon each other in the future. They can't be divided.", Raven says.
"Raven, honey, I plan to treat them all equally. However our Little Princess Lillian has me wrapped around her pinky. You have to help me with these girls. They know they have my heart. Have you seen how Echo and Farah fight for my attention. Little Daisy just is the cutest with her pigtails. Honey I'm lost against them.", I tell her.
Raven pulls me in for a kiss and I break my resolve. We make love, shower and return to check in with the Luna training. A make shift clinic has been set up and we visit each shewolf as they come in. "I don't know how you do this daily and in your condition as well.", one Luna speaks up. "I have been training hard my whole life for position of warrior and Luna. I never expected to be your Queen. I hold myself to a higher standard because as your queen I should be able to provide protection for my shewolves.", Raven answers her. "We respect you so much your majesty. You are beautiful, strong and smart. The Moon choice is excellent as always.", she tells my mate.
"I couldn't agree more!", I exclaim. As we walk we begin to talk about all of our pups and the future. We talk about stronger packs and how we will have peace while our pups will have an uncertain future. They need to be faster, stronger and smarter if they want to withhold the peace. Rumor of war is always on the back burner. We have to teach them how to rule and fight.
As the months pass our pup grows and thrives. Selene starts to give her mom energy and when she feels danger lurking she warns her too. Selene is very strong. Lillian talks to her moms stomach and pets it often. The girls share magic. Echo, Farah and Daisy all talk to their sister too. I absolutely love that my girls are all talking and playing together.
The pups are all really close, they fight but make up fast. They take up for each other and are willing to protect each other. I can already see a bond to their new sister Selene. Lillian comes running up to me out of breath, "Mommy needs dockor fass. She not wake up Pa." I look into her serious eyes and link the doctor, "We need you to come quick."
I run up the stairs with Lillian in my arms. I slam open the door to see Echo counting compressions and Farah breathing every 20 for her mom. I fall to my knees by the bed. I grab Ravens hand and try to link her. No answer. I can hear the babies heart beat very softly. I don't hear Raven's until Echo pushes blood. Tes comes in and says that it was a Rogue. She killed him and his followers.
Doc comes in hurrying over to Raven, I explain that I can hear the baby. I can't hear Raven. He tells us all to go. Let him work in peace. They hook my mate up to life support until Selene can be born and hopefully Raven's wolf can come forward to heal her. She is only 8 months pregnant so she will be there for 4 more weeks unless they do a c-section delivery.
I ok the surgery as long as both my girls live. Doc assures me that it's the only way to save Raven. He sets up the room and then my Selene is born. "Selene Blair Brown you are loved and welcome.", I welcome our pup. Just as I was about to hand her to the nurse I felt the sudden urge to lay her on Raven's chest.
I witnessed a miracle at that time. Raven begin to glow like the light of the moon. Doc didn't even have to sew Raven back up, she healed immediately. I looked for the Moon Goddess but it was only Selene glowing. She was healing her mommy. Raven's heart beat was restored, her lungs begin to work again and she looked up at me to mind link that everything was going to be ok. Raven shifted to let her wolf heal her body faster.
Selene is in perfect health and is thriving well. She is already gaining weight (born at 5.6 and within 24 hours has gained 7 oz.). Raven has fully recovered and no scar remains. I am so thankful for that. The King of Gypsies comes to bless Selene and is stopped in his tracks. "She looks like your mom. Her eyes are the same dusky gray, her hair dark as a raven, lips red as a cherry and skin pale as the moon.", he whispers. Then he holds out his hands to hold her. "Selene your Grandmother blessed you with beauty and magic, your Grandfather blesses you with Royalty because you are the princess of Gypsies. As King I bless you with speed, agility, strength and wisdom.", He lifts her to kiss her head.
As soon as he finishes the Moon Goddess appears. "May I hold our little Princess? (She reaches out for her.) You Princess Selene I gift the power of love for all creatures. Your magic is strong and if you join your sister the magic will save many lives. My warning to you is train in all forms. You will need a strong wolf, a fast snake and a wise brain. Now grow strong with your mama's milk and Pa's love."
