Throughout my time waiting for death I experience a lot of things.
First would have to be my increasing need for water and food. I always thought that it would someday hit a limit and just leave me alone after that. But oh boy I was wrong. It felt like a monster was living inside me constantly feasting upon my flesh and blood but never getting full. To satisfy its hungry it would eat and destroy anything so that the host (me) would eventually give in and feed it. The problem is that after waiting for who knows how long I lost the ability to move. Even thinking became a difficult chore to do.
Seconds after seconds, minutes after minutes, hours after hours, probably even days by now that the pain has just been increasing and will not reach its limit.
Then there's problem number two. Usually in a situation like this, one would want to pass out to escape the pain and hopefully die in their sleep. For the first couple of days, I was able to occasionally pass out and forget about everything. It wasn't until the 4th day (Currently counting days by the number of times the sun goes up and down) that the pain reached a level where it keeps me awake.
I have already become numb to the pain, but as if it's a sick joke whenever my consciousness starts to fade the numbness disappears. As if the damn has finally been broken the waves upon waves of pain enter my conscious reminding me of what's happening. It's like any memory of the pain has been flushed away and new ones take its place as if I have never experienced that pain before.
Usually, it's during that time that I can finally think again. The problem is that during that time I think of new ways to use curse words and hoping that I would finally lose consciousness. Even with my muddled thoughts, I was able to get a clearer picture of the surroundings.
Dark brown trees resembling a mixture of a redwood tree and a jungle tree. Shooting straight into the sky leaving me only looking at their branches with my limited vision.
Smaller light brown trees resembling your common oak tree with vibrant green leaves. These trees had blue light veins running all over them with what seems to be a type of liquid inside.
Covering the area was a mixture of flowers and bushes all in different colors.
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Brown, Black, and Grey flowers surrounded the area. Some with just one color other with a mix of a few or all colors.
The bushes in the area looked very deadly in my opinion.
Some had thorns, others at spikes, one to me looks strong and compact enough to be a shield that you would find through some hidden quest in a video game.
Surprisingly I had not encountered any bugs or animals throughout my time waiting to die.
This repeated itself for over 1 week until I realized something very important.
I can't die.
I don't know if I can't die in general but one thing is for certain. Is that starvation and thirst cannot kill me. I still get hungry and thirsty is just that I can't die from lacking it. Usually, you are able to survive without food for around 30 - 40 days and water for around 10 days. In rare instances a few weeks.
But currently, I have been without food and water for around 1 month (Being from when I started counting). Meaning that I should have died already. But I haven't.
Even if I wanted to try obtaining food and water now it's too late.
My body is nothing but skin and bones.
My energy has left me long ago.
My mind can only think of simple things like,
'Neat'
Bah, who am I kidding? Neat. I think that this is NEAT! HOW THE FUCK IS THIS NEAT! I AM IN CONSTANT PAIN! I AM STARVING, THIRSTY, AND MOST OF ALLLLLL!!!!!!
I
CAN'T
DIE
....
*ROOOAAAAAAARRRRRR*
'Huh?'
What fucker is screaming when a person is trying to die over here? Inconsiderate ass. Even with muddled thoughts I still had the time to be a dick. Not even noticing how that roar sounded like something from Jurassic Park.
*Thump*
*THump*
With every time the sound appeared the surrounding area vibrated a little more. It felt like the calm before the storm.
*THUmp*
Ugh... seriously, do you have to be this dramatic with your steps.
*THUMp*
Hmmm? Why does it sound like it getting closer?
*THUMP*
OH, SHIT!!!!
Just inches away from my "dying" body a giant foot that looks like something out of a dinosaur museum landed right in front of me. I can confidently say that it is probably bigger than my car. Black as the night claws, dark brown skin with the texture of leather, a pungent smell that reminds one what manurer smells like.
'Wait, I don't think I went to the bathroom at all this month.. huh.'
While thinking such nonsense a giant shadow started to cover the entire area that I was in. Slowly making its way towards my direction.
*Hmph*
A nasty smelling stream of air which was a mixture between blood and meat came flowing in from above the treetops. The leaves started to shake and part as the humungous head of a beast started to show itself. When the head was finally all the way through the beast and I locked eye contact.
It was very intimate. We saw the universe in the eyes of each other. I felt like millions of years went by as we stared at each other. The connection growing stronger with everything second. It was like meeting a friend after many years, or a high school reunion when everybody is already in their 30's. It was a bond so deep that it was ingrained into our very existence.
...
I was his food.
He was my savior.
....
It was a T-Rex.
