Chapter 11 - How does it work?

'So I found a perfect way to manipulate people.' Cyril chuckled.

He chose the female half, which was not surprising. Although there weren't many people around at this hour, Cyril thought it was better to watch women's bodies than naked men.

'I have nothing against naked men.' Cyril thought. 'And I'm not going to point my cock at anyone, but if everyone here is as pliable, as Freya, why would I shy?'

They entered the locker room. The girl, whose name he never asked, suggested him to leave his clothes in one of the small chests that lined along the wall. A long bench offered to sit down to take off your shoes. Thinking about shoes, Cyril looked down. The bear not only tore his strong jeans and good shirt to shreds, but also tore the hell out of last year's Nikes.

"Can I borrow new clothes here?" He asked the girl. "Or is it normal to go naked in a tolerant capital?"

The girl smiled her usual smile.

"As a servant of clan of Fate, you have right to do as you please."

"In that case, find me a nice suit while I take a bath."

"Of course." She said.

Cyril sat down on a bench, removed the remains of his sneakers, and stood up to pull off the bloody shreds of clothing. Left naked, he thought it was best to hide the basket.

"I have important herbs here and I don't want it to be stolen while I'm washing."

"Don't worry." She said, holding up her hands. "There is a lock formation on the chest behind you. Only someone who puts things in there can open it."

'Formation?' Cyril was surprised. 'What the hell is this? Well, if I gonna lie outright, I should be careful.'

"Since we're on the test," Cyril began in an impassive tone. "Could you show me how to use the formation and what it actually is?"

"Yes, of course." The girl smiled and has drawn closer, not shying to squint at his penis.

'I need to find out more about this clan of Fate.' Cyril made a mental note. 'The mechanic immediately calmed the crowd by using this word. The old man trusted in Fate. The girl is ready to lick lower member of my body, considering me a member of the clan. The pun is not too much, but the cheat is cool.'

"The lock formation is a small magic circle with a set of symbols. When touched, the symbols read a person's individual aura and store it in their memory until they touch again to remove the force field. This field protects the chest from being penetrated by another person. Since the magic circle perceives the aura of a person, even a strong magician is not able to destroy the lock circle."

'Magic? Okay, accepted' Cyril nodded. 'The local equivalent of a retina or fingerprint.'

"But if the magician will be able to copy someone else's aura? Or make a person touch the lock?" He asked the logical question.

"Then formation will work." The girl nodded. "The Clean Heel clan is thinking about how to protect or improve the system. In our case, if someone tries to do this, the tracking formation on the wall will notice it, and the bath guard will take action."

Cyril looked at the walls, covered with hewn planks, and turned to the depraved guide.

"The bath guard?"

"A water elemental." The girl explained. "The Clean Heel clan has been using water elementals for centuries. These primordial beings are able to stop even a strong mage, but they are only active for a very short time. Most of the time they are dispersed in the humid air in the form of water vapor."

"So you need to touch these symbols?" Cyril leaned toward the chest beside the bench.

"Yes."

'Is this a bathhouse or a fucking bank?' Cyril was surprised. 'I should ask the mechanic if he knows about these elementals.'

Where an ordinary chest would have had an iron lock, a small circle the size of the same lock shone blue in this strange place. Between the outer and inner edges of the circle, several symbols glowed like hieroglyphs.

Cyril opened the chest, placed the precious basket inside, and closed the lid. Then he touched the magic circle. The hieroglyphs glittered brightly, changed places at random, and went out again, barely glowing.

"I'm ready." Cyril said, straightening up. "Show me the rest."
