"What's gone?" Khan Ni asked for details.
Darkwing saw the exchange, he followed up with a visual example to Wu Hai, "Master, Darkness.. like this."
"The Corpse, the wall, I crushed them with a dark elements? Maybe its because I'm an Elemental. When I attacked, it felt like undeniable nothingness but only for a moment." Wu Hai flexed his hands and stared at the ring. "It wasn't anything like spacial magic and it was colorless to my senses, all I saw was the Archer crush into a tiny ball and disappear." Wu Hai added "It didn't even drop the arrow it was notching, everything was compacted in an instant."
'I'd like to know if it leads to destruction only, the power certainly seems useful but I'd like the corpses to saved. This can be used to dispose of the bodies later, maybe that will be a good use for it when we're not fighting?' Thinking to himself a bit, Wu Hai kept up with the group. Darkwing was doing most of the work, again but the others wanted to be out in front. There was a marked increase in their combat potential and no one wanted to fall behind.
Darkwing's punches were awful and looked more like a man hugging a Tree. Wild Cowboy-like punches were thrown at every enemy. Darkwing was really trying to stay in the frontline but his movements required him to move in ways that he was not necessarily accustomed.
"Take off the armor. You're a Duck, Just go with it." Cheng Mu came up and looked at Darkwing struggling. "Look, I have wings out but, I don't wear shoulder pads. My armor only covers the front of my chest and my lower back. I wear pants but they get ripped, Chainmail is nice but it makes too much noise. I said it before, you're a strange Qilinkin. Embrace it." As if words of wisdom came out of Cheng Mu's mouth, Darkwing stripped the armor off as fast as he could.
Darkwing used the ring to strip himself before taking a few more swings into thin air. He could feel the air pressing against his gauntlets when he swung, "Better, thank you."
Another blast from an Archer roared by and Darkwing sprinted to the front aggressively.
Khan Ni was firing rapidly while the men were busy coordinating, her arrows were getting more precise with every battle. Clearing a path to the stairwell didn't take very long, everyone had gained a better understanding of themselves since the first time they had arrived in the catacombs.
The stairwell horde was still growing in number. Pieces of Undead, Arms and Legs that had fallen off, could be seen mending to the bodies of the incoming Zombies. One in particular, with extra faces on its shoulders, a being with five arms was among the strangest that was advancing.
One arm came from its back and four from the chest. Approaching any of the Undead was already difficult.
"Why would anyone make these?" The Twins kept bashing away but the speed that the Undead were 'assembling and reassembling' themselves was rather quick.
The Reacher pushed its hands to the ground and paddled over toward the group a lot faster than it was walking. Its speed had increased significantly by dropping to the ground.
"WATCH OUT!" Mu called an audible when its legs and the arm on its back able were moving to attack.
"Watch out, something's strange about this one." Wu Hai pulled out a Light Crystal and threw it at the ground. The explosive light-wave pushed all of Undead into a daze. He didn't think about the damage it would do to himself, he had never been hit by a light attack.. even before holding powers from darkness. The light nearly blinded Wu Hai and Darkwing, their eyes stung and their skin felt the radiance.
"Its coming again." Khan Ni had been facing away, her vision was the first to return, she started sending out roots to block its way but the roots wouldn't last long. She had the Twins put up a metal cage to trap it and they got into position.
"Now!" Khan Ni called out.
A strong steel door dropped down behind it, sealing its retreat and blocking the other Undead that were coming down the passageway. They had blocked off its escape route and the road for any of its reinforcements.
A large metal trap was nothing for the Twins to create, they had already made Arenas. Mu pointing to direct the flow of metal, a lattice quickly took shape, caging the construct into place. The wall behind it had been sealed several feet thick.
Quickly dislocating its joints, the Undead started making its way through the bars.
"This isn't going to hold it. Darkwing, lets do it together, use your space, I'll use mine." Wu Hai called an audible shot. He wasn't sure, maybe it would work or maybe it wouldn't, he still had to try.
Stabbing randomly at its body was doing very little good, the Reacher's Core was likely hidden or moving throughout its body.
Charging to the Cage bars, the Brothers electrified them. The Reacher writhed and distorted, it was freaking out, even for an Undead.
Wu Hai and Darkwing were already there, both channeling their ability. Wu Hai was on one side, Darkwing on the other. The resulting constriction and conflicting manifestations of spacial magic forced the space in front of them to collapse, it tore apart the Dungeon walls and blasted a channel back tens of meters.
There was nothingness left except collapsing rubble, the roof started to cave in from above when its supports vanished.
"Move back!" Holding out his hands and forcing the soil back, Mu shielded the group as the passageway fell apart.
"I don't know if we can continue, the entire Cavern is collapsing around us." Wu Hai considered having Mu clear an alternate route but something told him it was better to just leave it as it were.
The Undead had wandered in from somewhere else much deeper than the Cavern they were exploring and now there was no longer advancement in their direction. As bitter as it was to walk away, it was better to leave the Dungeon while the group had the chance.
If the Cavern held the secrets of the past, surely it could keep them for a while longer.
Wu Hai let out a sigh and like an Omen, what little remained of the Cavern collapsed. Rushing to exit the dust cloud, the group cleared their throats with coughing fits.
Mu smoothed out the caverns entrance to match the surroundings, concealing it from outside interests.
Yu and Mu then worked together to make a very large metal pole, Wu Hai stood the Giant rod upright, it reached several meters into the air. Using a brush, he painted it from top to bottom and inscribed strange decorations all over it.
The pole looked like a talisman, "This will draw their attentions away from the Mountainside. Hopefully no one decides to mine this one in particular." Khan Ni noticed Wu Hai's intentions and nodded in agreement.
"Lets get inside the Pagoda, I need to clean up and we should all go over the battles in our heads." They entered the Pagoda and sat around, sinking themselves into the books that were handed to them or reviewing the fights they had just been through.
Wu Hai was busy looking at a singular book. It had caught his eyes immediately, 'Teleportation Circles.'
Although they cost way too much to construct, the theory behind them was fascinating and gruesome. Moving from one spot to another with a single step is the dream of most travelers. The Materials were exotic, so profusely barbaric, that the construction methods needed were completely out of the question.
The primary materials were the brains of the young, crushed into a paste and laced with the blood of seven different races. The construction method was something that Wu Hai would never participate in, he even considered destroying the book itself but another thought occurred to him. 'This is not the only copy. Destroying it only removes it from reference.' He passed it to Qu and had him lock it away.
