There were all sorts of broken pieces of armor laying around, they came from different nations spread across Shiyan. Some of the sets of Armor were still soaked in blood, almost all of them were broken. A collection, many of them bore the same emblem, the Pirion National Symbol, three Pillars of Ice.
Lu Sha spoke to his new apprentice. "So many difficulties, so many obstacles to overcome. You Father would be happy to know your tenacity is nothing short of his own."
"You say that? You know my father? He told me to hide my identity. What is all this about?" Hana had lots of questions on her tongue but asking was different than having answers.
The sound of fire crackled in the distance. Surrounded by water, the island was in the middle of a lake, a Cabin, no larger than a shack was hidden inside the brush. "Do not fear, this is the portal to my domain. The Emperor left it to me, I was the only one capable of surviving besides him, and now, you. Enter, we have training to do. Tomorrow you will be attending classes with the Sect Elders, tonight I must inform you." Lu Sha disappeared into the doorway and Hana followed.
Walking through the door, she could feel a strange sensation.
She felt like she had moved from the Island.
There was Ice everywhere, it was dark. A biting cold froze her wings in place, she couldn't move.
"Don't panic." Lu Sha grabbed her shoulder and poured his energy into her. "Remember this feeling, reproduce it." His energy broke her concentration and fear, he released her and watched.
Hana washed herself in the energy, it left her feeling weak. Taking much more concentration than she expect, her movements were slow and sluggish.
"You will get better at it, for now, concentrate only on breathing and your aura." Lu Sha grabbed a book from the shelf in the wall.
He started reading, each passage was profound, meant to drive a specific and targeted reaction.
"Your magic, is the magic of the Creator, unbridled, unrestrained and unique. The Creator has the ability to reproduce all power, create new power and absorb what is. Have you not noticed it? Summon your creature. I saw it during your match." He pointed to a circle on the wall, drawn by the Emperor himself. "Your father knew this day would come, there are just too many things he wanted to avoid. He spoke of what to do when this day arrived, I believed him and here you are. Summon your beast, this training will be beneficial to both of you."
Hana stared at the diagram on the wall, it was close to what she had used to summon Caoimhe.
It was slightly different than what she had done before, there were five additional points for its summoning. "What is the difference between this circle and the one I used to summon her originally?" Hana wasn't sure what to expect, she memorized the formation circle and brought out the required reagents. "Okay, but I don't think she's going to appreciate it."
With her hand on her ring, she brought out fifteen stones and three leaves. "What is this ingredient?" She pointed toward a character on the wall, it didn't match anything she'd read before.
"That is the symbol for the bloodline of the Emperor." He passed her a knife.
Hana slit her finger and dropped blood onto five of the fifteen stones. The three leaves spun and rose from the stone floor, rotating counter clockwise. The stones traveled clockwise and bounced. When a blast of energy filled the dimensional space Lu Sha's eyes softened.
'She's just like her father.' Lu Sha's expression was solemn, lifetimes in the servitude of others, rescued by the Emperor, and now trusted to guide his children. Honored and terrified to fail, he continued to explain the diagram. "When the power reaches its peak, only then should you finish your summons. Pour your energy into the formation and concentrate."
The fifteen stones spiraled and formed a ring. The faster it revolved, the harder it was to identify a single rock. Afterimages merged and the stones appeared like a solid ring. "Now, keeping your focus. Ignite the leaves, one with the light element, the darkness element and the Emperor's Fire. It won't be easy the first time, so take all the time you need. If the summons fails, we will try again." Lu Sha pulled a stool out and sat down.
'Good, Good' he watched while she kept the summon circle in rotation.
"Release once it reaches the Apex and speak the name of your summons." Lu Sha had seen the Pirions
doing the same thing years ago, however their ice wolf beasts were a far cry from anything that the Emperor would bring into the world.
Hana's power coursed through the rings and she was swaying from an exaggerated use of her ability.
"Keep your focus child." He pumped some of his own energy to aide her.
"No. Let me do it." Hana snapped at Lu Sha gently.
Lu Sha pulled back the energy and watched her. 'Tenacity. His majesty was right once again.'
She waned a bit, digging deep, she found the strength to finish. A bright golden, green and red glow burst out of the summoning circle. The light was blinding and apart from the light, a swinging blackness swirled in the formation.
"CHAOIHME!" Hana yelled in the cave, she wasn't sure if a whisper would suffice.
A deafening chirp sounded, but it was much louder and a deeper volume than before. Hana saw the dust clear, scattered by Caoimhe's arrival.
When the light vanished from her eyes, she saw the Basket Drake in front of her. Caoimhe's body had grown by several times, she was big enough to ride. "What?" Hana's face showed some shock at the new appearance.
"The fire, light and darkness elements are part of you, they are also part of any creature you ever summon to your side. The Emperor's power is very similar, but you have something he never had. A gift from your Mother's soul, the light." Lu Sha spread his wings and showed her the direct power of Darkness. "Your Father shared his flames with me, and in return he only asked one thing from me. To live and love this world. Your cousins were taken from this world early in life, he feared the same fate for you and made preparation. In this cave, are diagrams you will learn over the next five years. You will return here every night." He pointed to Caoimhe and said, "Feed your Summons, drakes prefer blood and energy. Your summons is a living plant, it requires Light to grow. Use light energy, everyday your summons must eat at least once. Failure could mean its death, don't be negligent."
Hana was speechless, so much was coming to her at once. "Why is Caoimhe so large?" Petting the bridge of her nose, Hana felt the energy of the basket drake. 'So warm.' She held her head close to Caoimhe's and felt something else, reverence.
"???" Hana pulled her face back and stared into Caoimhe's eyes. "Master, earlier during the fight, there was a Blood Mist Dragon. Caoimhe looked like she absorbed its power, is that normal?"
Lu Sha laughed. "Of course, your bloodline can absorb all energies it encounters. Expressing them is not the same as learning their sensations. Gaining a power doesn't mean you grow the talent to express it. Every time your power grows you will have to learn to control it more, this includes power you don't choose to use." His tone changed, it became very sad. "Lost potential can cause your death, as my student you are the first and only. My attention and legacy will be passed to you."
