It was the end of their meal, Hana had been listening to her father talking. His advice was mostly little things like, 'Don't steal from bears' and 'Magic takes practice, when in doubt blow it up.' "I know I know, so tell me about the sect! Do they have training grounds and stuff?" She started punching toward the air, pretending to be a fighter.
"Of course they do." Her father passed her a ring. "This is a spacial ring, you'll need it. Before we leave here tomorrow, we'll get you a few things to help you along the way. But tonight, we have something extra special for you."
He brought out the Dragons Egg Crystal. "This rock and me had a history, and its only proper that it have a use. The Emperor looked over at Kuzunoha then concentrated on the Dragons Egg Crystal. Using his Darkness Ring and the Empress' Ring of Light, they manipulated the crystal egg. Heating up at first, its color rapidly changed many times. When it became maleable, her father used gravity and compression waves in a sequence, it started to change the shape of the crystal. It shrunk, stalled, then shrunk again until it was about the size of a pigeon egg.
The Aura had concentrated significantly, converging into tiny bead.
The Emperor staggered a little bit. It had taken all of his concentration not to activate the crystal.
He released it and let it float in the hands of the Empress.
"Hana. There are many things you will learn, one is that great power comes with great pain. In order to make sure you can accomplish the life we hope you to live, we entrust this. The object that brought us together, as our world evolved, so did it. My ancestors worked tirelessly and while I never really wanted that for you, it seems you're just as eager to follow in our footsteps." Kuzunoha grabbed the crystal and passed it into Hanahaksu's hand. "Swallow the Crystal. Let its magic work over you."
The Emperor nodded in approval, "there are no others like it in the world. You will have a unique power of your own." He waved his fingers and the egg rose into the air, she grabbed it and shoved it into her mouth. Swallowing was more difficult than she thought but she managed. As it entered her body, she could feel the changes happening.
Her skin started to shift in color, gently hues and subtle changes took place all over.
'She's only 13 and just got use to being a girl growing up, please don't let her suffer some strange transformation.. ' Kuzunoha prayed silently to her ancestors. When the changes stopped, Hana had purple eyes and multicolored hair, it shifted under the light from purple to blue and back again. "Ooh, I like this color," Kuzunoha like the color and then said something strange. "Okay, now for a new body. Don't worry, your dad has a lot more to talk about one day when your older, but for now.. just go with it. This will help hide your identity and you can study without people finding out your the Emperor's Daughter."
"Ah.. About that? What's the big deal if people find out that I'm your daughter?" She had a puzzled look on her face. "Wait, did you say new body?"
Hana sat down, her Mother explained. "Yes, you see, well.. your father, he's... well, lets put it this way, You're about to get a set of wings. People can't know your our daughter because then you will be treated differently, trust me when I say.. you want to experience life without being under our shadow, so.. just have fun with it and be a good girl."
Wu Hai pulled out a pile of Gygax, he had more than 60 laying in a pile. Tossing a few to the side, his body changed accordingly. 'Eye Color, Claw type, Wings' He pulled the wing die out and set it to the side. Then, he kept flipping through them. He set the Pellos and Zodiac Gygax away, they were simply too monstrous for his daughter. Then he found the a Form Gygax, it had elves on the side. "This will do." The Emperor wiped the dice off and set them into a strange metal cup.
"Now that you have power, we should get you a form you won't be identified in. I've picked a few gygax that will allow you to return to being a normal human if you wanted, but you'll never lose your new powers. Those will be with you forever." Passing the cup over, he motioned for her to toss the dice out of the cup and onto the table.
He put the other Gygax away.
She rolled the dice. when they came to a stop, the Emperor read them out loud as the changes were taking place.
'Dwarf, Red Eyes, Proto-Wings' She shrank and the skin under her arms stretched like a fox bat down to her waist. She opened her eyes and looked in the mirror, horrified. "This is so small. I don't want to be this small. Change me again." Her voice sounded more full, it deepened because of the Dwarf bloodline.
"Put them back into the Cup and roll again." The Emperor watched her grab them and furiously throw the dice from the cup against the wall. 'Yup, that's my daughter..' He chuckled and Kuzunoha saw him lighten up a little.
'Human, Green Eyes, Qilin Wings.' Hana grew back to her original size, a set of rainbow colored parrot-like Qilin wings sprouted behind her back.
"Interesting, so you've got my traits." Her father examined the wings up close, they were sharp. Her hair stayed a vivid blue and with the green eyes and parrot-like wings. "We're just going to assume that you can control fire, even though you haven't tried anything out." The Emperor pulled out a blade of fire, the Dragon King had forged it for him. It was blistering hot, the air grew searing around it. "Come see if you can touch this blade, if its hot, back away."
She was hesitant but it was her father talking. Trusting him was all she had ever done, she got to her father and reached for the blade.
The blade lost its light, cooled and stopped flickering fire all together. "Whoa." Hana jumped with excitement, a strange feeling was coming over her. She saw the tips of her wings glowing with the same fire as the sword in her father's arms. "What does this mean?"
"It means, your father knows best." Kuzunoha sighed a little bit, then smiled at her husband. He really understood a lot more than she gave him credit for at times. "Lets get you to bed, don't experiment with your powers tonight, just let yourself get some sleep." She ushered her daughter off to sleep and teleported back to the bedroom.
"Qu." The Emperor called to the Tower Spirit.
"Yes, Master," He answered.
"Tomorrow I'll be leaving Tower City Again. Where would you like to go while we train? Someplace tropical this time?" Wu Hai wanted to know, it was important that Qu not feel abandoned.
"There was that Nyankin Nudist Colony we passed a few years ago, that doesn't sound too bad of a place to hang out for a few years." Qu smiled. "About your daughter, Since she's been given the Dragons Egg Crystal, we can assume she'll turn up with some of the powers Abbi's children have, am I right?"
"I think so, but lets not worry everyone. She is after all, my daughter." The Emperor flickered away, teleporting to his bedroom.
Kuzunoha laid on the bed, beckoning him. "Come husband.."
