Mike had the forge disassembled and moved brick by brick to the Palace by the Shadow Corp, Gefest's Office was put back together in full, upgraded with a new chair taken from one of the CMPB Boats. Mike thought he would appreciate the rising motion, he would have taken any that swiveled but with the creation of the ports and docks Mike had the input from many of the citizens during the construction.
It would be easier to say that a shit ton of people had ideas and none of them had the ability to work with materials quite as simply as the Esper construction team.
It was a matter of Sect security to keep the expansion of empowered people down to a minimum until things somewhat normalized. Giving everyone crystals and allowing them access to power was easy but with so many, blindly giving weapons away would be among the worst ideas. He begged for more workers by the third day, but the Emperor had already left.
"Munju and Rios have been busy with the currency problem, trade is just too hard without a standardized currency. We can use gold for normal stuff within the nation, but I think we should stick to contribution points for trade of rare materials. We should buy all the rare materials that get brought back to the City." Mike was running things by Abbi, she was content with most of his ideas.
"You can have whatever you want." A look came over her. She walked to Genba's side and grabbed at his ass. "A Dragon's Share, its a fitting name for the Auction House. I think that all trade should be done through contribution points, obtainable by your material trade value system. We could just start appraising things, anything, everything. Then assign a point value system on classes. Damn.. this sounds complicated, I'm sure this stuff has been done but in video games." Abbi wasn't finished with her thoughts when another flood of ideas and concepts came into her head.
"We could buy all materials from citizens for their collection, give them contribution points like credit. The problem, is that someone can probably forge fakes if we don't employ bookkeepers rather than a hard currency.
She was snapping her fingers and calling people over from all over the City. The Changes she was proposing had significant impacts over how they would run the society, Mike didn't mind so much, it was refreshing to see her take command. He named her as his right hand, giving her a title, 'City Planner.' Mike wanted to focus on his Blacksmithing, If the City was his to control, he could have someone else manage it.
Abbi was thrilled with the idea, it came with perks. The Dragon King was always nearby, but she got to live in the Palace and got a 1% share of all business, a permanent taxation on trade and use of contribution points. The Dragon King thought it was a bit greedy, but a Dragon doesn't fear greed. Greed can be extremely honest.
"Mr. Rios wants to run the collection agency for the Zao Sect, Munju wants to run the Auction House. I want to run the Barracks." It was Arlington, his hyperactive sense of patriotism was nothing short of amazing at times, he always wanted to build armies and soldier on. "I think it will help to create a guard for the City and Bay, we will also need a Navy. Its comical to think that the weapons on the SSK Boats and warships will be of much use. Perhaps to more basic use, but.. they are mostly expensive housing at this point. relics from an old world, we need a new military. I'd like to be a part of that." He snapped his feet together and stood tall.
Mike clapped a little and looked around the room, he was the only one clapping. It felt weird, he stopped. Coughing to break tensions, he said, "I approve of creating a military, but If we're going to do that, its going to be complicated. We'll have to get help." Pulling out a communication stone, he tried contacting Qu. He didn't have much, but the module for long range communications wasn't science, it was magic. He just fed it crystals.
"Zao Clan, Alchemy Department. Ah, its good to see you Mike, what can I do for you? The Emperor has already arrived, there are so many people waiting outside to become alchemists that I feel like my heads going to explode." Doctor Dibali had been working closely with the Alchemy Department, after the arrival of so many more Humans, he wasn't the most up to date, or even the best surgeon. He instead turned his direction toward improving medicine through Alchemy.
Mike started relaying his needs, Qingchi was called over, it didn't take long for her to arrive. "Qingchi, How many people can you interview an hour? and by interview, I mean, feel them out and make sure they aren't dishonest, crazy murderers." Mike looked pained, he had millions of people.. he needed more people that could be useful in a Magic World.
"My unit can see into Souls, we can do about 30 an hour each if you want in depth answers. Two minutes each. but, you know.. people that give us the creeps, are pretty rare. we've been throwing collars on them for the last few days whenever we fly by." Qingchi tilted her head, annoyed. "I never thought so many people were stupid.. but you learn something everyday. When the Emperor is done, he intends to bring beastkin, lots of beastkin."
"Which ones?" Mike had a sneaky suspicion.
"Which ones do you think?" Qingchi started laughing.
"Doberamons, Minaur or the Ijene?" Mike was sure it was one of the two, both of which were poor examples of beastkin and reproduced at astounding rates, even the Sakai didn't outbreed them.
"Its the Elementals and a bunch of the former slaves. Did you really think the Emperor would send the Ijene to the Capital?" Her words shocked Mike.
"Capital?" A smile crept over his face, Mike started to prepare himself mentally with his fingers outstretched in a whoaing motion. "Did you say Capital?"
