Lost
I can't believe it. He stabs me! What have I done wrong to deserve this? Is being born so wrong that I deserve to die? I thought. I want my parents; I want to live. I haven't experienced life at its fullest.
I don't want to end just like his.
I want to learn and explore the world my parents once lived.
I want…
This was my last thought as I slowly faded away.
"Enya…"
"Enya…"
"Enya… wake up"
A voice keeps telling me to wake up, but I don't recognize that voice. I feel like I was floating away. Where am I? Who is that voice?
"Enya, come. Find me. Release me," The voice said to me.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Where can I find you?"
But the voice just keeps on repeating itself.
Find me. Release me. Find me. Release me. Over and over again.
I woke up to a bright light coming from the opened window.
A bed canopies overhead? When did I have a canopy? Wait, where am I? I thought.
I slowly sit up, but a stinging pain in my chest stops me from my movement.
What happens? I asked myself. And where am I?
The entire room is just enough to fit the bed, a dresser, and a small table by the window. Everything inside dictates that the owner of the room is a girl and lives a humble living.
I tried to stand, but my throbbing chest just won't let me move easily. So, I slowly ease myself out of the bed. I was about to succeed when the door suddenly opens and a young girl, maybe around seven or eight years old, looked at me with wide bright eyes. As suddenly as she came, she just as suddenly runs back out and I can hear her screaming voice and her stomping feet as she runs. "Nana! A Lady is awake!"
I sat back down on the bed and wait. It didn't take too long before footsteps moving towards the room. When the door reopens again, a girl as the same age as me and an Elderly woman—their Grandmother, I assume—came in. The little hover by the door as the other two walked right beside the bed.
"I am Nana Mila, it was my granddaughter who found you by the shore," The older woman said as she stood in front of me. She wore a simple garb, one you mostly see on the lower-class in the medieval period.
"Where am I?" I asked them. I was looking at the tray the other girl was holding. My stomach was growling, a sign that I was hungry. The older woman heard the embarrassing sound and smile.
"Maybe we should continue the questions after you fill up your stomach, or it will protest and won't let you concentrate," She said and signal the younger woman to give me the food that I was eyeing since they enter the room.
The food was just a simple porridge with tiny bits of meats; Fish maybe, and tasteless bread. While I was eating, they said that they will return after her meal so she can eat in peace. As I ate there, I keep thinking; asking why I am here? What happens? I can't remember anything. The only memories that I have were when I was about to take a shower, then everything is blank.
'Enya…'
Startled, that the bowl nearly slips off my hands.
"Who is it?" I called out loud. But no one's answered me. I waited for a few seconds more, then continue eating. Just as I was about to call for the others, the voice came again.
'Enya… Find me…'
"Who are you?" I said, but again no response.
I heard footsteps again, and I don't want to be accused of being crazy, so I sat back down on my bed again, and waited to whoever came in.
I was sitting at the dining table after my meal. The girl—Ariya, came and brought me here. They found me unconscious by the shore and took me home.
"Where are you from?" Ask Nana Mila.
"I came from San Antonio," I said. When I looked up, they have this confused look on their faces.
"What?" I asked.
"Where is that San Antonio? Is that a place beyond the Great Sea?" Asked Ariya.
"What? No, it's in America, don't you know where it is?" I asked, how can they not know about America since it is one of the most well-known countries in this world?
"Are there land beyond the Great Sea? How did you arrive here? Is there a vessel that can withstand the storms and how about the {insert monster here}? How did you evade that?" Ariya was firing questions after questions that I can't keep up.
"The what? W-wait a minute. I don't understand. Where am I exactly?" I demanded. I was so confused by their question.
"You're in the Senad Kingdom, the Town that this village is the Oceanshear and we are in the village of Fairwarf," Ariya explains.
What? Where am I? I couldn't remember if there was any kingdom in a country with that name. But their language is the same as mine.
"Are we still in North America?" I doubtfully asked. I have a strange feeling that I'm not any place that I know of.
"Where is that? North America? Is that what the land beyond the sea? How many Kingdoms are there? I wish I could travel that far too," Ariya wishfully said.
"This is not Earth anymore, is it?"
"Earth? Do you mean the Element, Earth? Or do you mean something else?" Nana Mila asked dubiously.
"Earth as in the Land and Sea that we are currently living on? Where there are lots of different countries and continents like North America and Asia...," I explained, but they still have that confused look, as if they never heard of it. Or could they?
"What is the name of this world?" I slowly asked, afraid at the answer.
"We are in the Cigen Continent," Nana Mila answered.
I closed my eyes, hoping that maybe when I open them again I am at home. I felt a sense of déjà vu, that I am already in a situation like this. But no matter how I tried, I cannot remember my pass.
"Tell me, child. What is your name? And where do you come from?" Nana Mila asked me quietly.
"My name is Enya Waidel. And I am from Texas of North America, on the planet Earth," I said.
Nana Mila looked at me for a while, I feel anxious just sitting there with a throbbing chest that I haven't asked why I have a wound in there. I wanted to leave, to run, to scream. Because I am in a place that I don't know anyone. I was in this state of mind when Nana Mila said.
"This Earth that you are talking about, do they have magical abilities like this," And Nana shows me something both amazing and terrifying. She raised her hands and the water inside her cup suddenly floated and form an orb. As I stare at the thing she just did I asked, "Are you the one who is doing that?"
"Yes, this is my ability. Although it's just to call the water to me and I can never use this as a weapon, my strongest ability using the water is to heal," Nana Mila informed me.
"I'll assume that Earth doesn't have this magic, do they?" She added. And I just shake my head as I keep on staring at the hovering orb of water.
"So you are from another realm then?" Nana Mila concluded.
I thought so too. No one on Earth can control water like that. But how did I end up here? And why can't I remember anything? And what about my parents?
Did I just spirited away or I die and got transmigrated just like in those stories I read?
But I still look the same. Maybe this is my alter self in a different realm?
So many what questions.
What was that famous like again?
You're not in Kansas anymore, Enya.
