I ran up to the first [0 Star] Pirate, cleaving him in two using my superior strength. I'll be the first to admit that I have absolutely no skill with the sword... at least, not yet. But, I could still use the fact that I'm an entire Star above them to my advantage in this fight.
The five other [0 Star] Pirates froze for a second in shock, allowing me to get a second kill in, by slicing the man's left leg off and crushing his skull with my foot when he fell to the ground in shock and pain.
That was when the remaining [0 Star] Pirates got their acts together and tried to attack me at the same time, to no avail as I dodged their sloppy attacks and sliced two of their guts open with my sword, leaving them to fall to the floor and bleed out as their guts spilled to the floor.
I turned to the two remaining [0 Star] Pirates and went to attack them.
That was when the [1 Star] Pirate finally decided to join in the fray and attack me from behind, I barely dodged to the left, before hitting him in the chin with my elbow, stunning the Pirate, before I cut off his sword-arm.
"GYAAAAAH!!!" The [1 Star] Pirate screamed in pain, as he fell to the floor, holding his now blood covered stump where his hand once was.
""Boss!"" The remaining [0 Star] Pirates shouted in unison, as they attacked me.
I quickly disposed of the two idiots with a single swing of my sword, decapitating the both of them.
I then walked to the still living [1 Star] Pirate with a grin on my face.
"Now... tell me, where's your captain... I have certain things I want to... ask him" I said with a cocky grin, as the man whimpered in pain.
"O-of course, I'll tell you whatever you want! Just-just don't kill me!" The [1 Star] Pirate stuttered in fear, as he tried to crawl away from me.
"Listen up, because I won't repeat myself. Where is your Captain?" I asked him, while grinding my teeth in anger, trying to intimidate the pirate more.
"O-of course! H-he's- Urk!" The [1 Star] Pirate said, before suddenly thorns erupted from inside of his throat, causing blood to spray everywhere, as the man gurgled, blood coming out of his mouth.
"Right here..." A sinister-sounding voice said from behind me.
I quickly turned around, to see a well-dressed man wearing a dark green suit and tie with spiky black hair and a sadistic grin on his face, he wielded a thorny whip in his left hand, his right hand in his pocket.
'System, what Star is he?' I asked The System.
[He's at the Peak of [1 Star], the same as you Host] The System told me.
'Ah, well... this will be a tough battle' I thought to myself, not wanting to use my summons due to the fact that I wanted to complete this on my own, to gain actual power instead of relying on what I summon.
"You know, I hate traitors like this bastard... always helps to feed them small amounts of my thorns every day, so if they betray me I can just kill them before they give out any information," The man said as he kicked the [1 Star] pirates corpse into the water.
I just stood there, waiting for him to attack.
"Now, you... I must say, kid. I'm impressed. You killed most of my crew, how would you like a place in the Thorny Pirates, kid? We could use someone with your... expertise" The man said with a grin on his face, his "whip" waving around as if it was alive.
"Uh..." I started, trying to find a way to distract him, before being cut off.
"Oh! Where are my manners! I'm Sorin Thorin, I know. It rhymes, I'm the Captain of the Thorny Pirates! I have a bounty of 12 Million Beri. So, what do you say? Wanna join me?" Sorin said, as he extended his right hand to me.
"No thanks, I'd rather stay here, as... well, you know, not a criminal rather than betray this village. Thanks for the offer though, but I'll be taking that bounty of yours!" I said with a grin, as I readied my blade for the second fight of the... day.
"Ah, that's such a shame... well, whatever. You win some, you lose some... get him, boys!" Sorin shouted, as twenty pirates came out from behind him, all wielding different weapons with crazed expressions on their faces.
'What Star are they, System?' I asked The System quickly.
[Eighteen are at the peak of [0 Star] Pirates and the other two are at the lowest level of [1 Star] Pirates] The System told me.
I have to fight these guys and their Captain who's at the same Star as me? Great... just... great.
"Twenty-one on One? I like those odds!" I said with a cocky grin, while inwardly fearing for my life, as I readied my blade for the upcoming battle.
