"Let's go home,'' Gyles tells me, tugging both of us out of our seats. Jabi and Darrien are still making out on the dance floor. Okay, I can't even call this a dance floor. We are outside, In the compound. The wind is blowing heavily but the weather is still nice.
It is almost eleven in the night and maybe Gyles is right.
He pulls me up first and I pull him closer as I stand up. There are a couple of people left outside but the music has stopped and I guess it is time to end this party.
At least for the three of us.
Gyles leads us away from the scene. We don't have to say anything to anyone but Rex still tells Darrien and Jabi goodnight as we walk the path to our house. Once we get to the front of our house. Rex runs over to the front door and opens it.
He is smiling
He is happy.
We have been so happy for the past two years.
Things have been great.
