I take him to the hotel room. He is still asleep; he has been coming in and out of sleep for the last hour. This must have taken a toll on him and I completely understand. I get him into the room and he doesn't even budge. Jabi has never really been a deep sleeper. Somehow, he has always been wary of his surroundings. His past didn't help. He always had to watch out for himself, so seeing him sleep so peacefully after so long makes me feel a little bit relieved but at the same time, because of the circumstances, I feel a pang of worry.
I take off his clothes, clean him up, cover him up, and then I sit on the bed right next to him.
I hold him for a while. I don't know why but I know this is the place. I know this is where Jabi should be and as I lie there, I feel his energy and his life beating through my body. I feel the spirit of him flow through my skin and enter my soul.
