I get to the school in a frenzy because I don't like the mind link that he sent and even though I couldn't see him, I know that something is wrong. I shouldn't have trusted Lenny with him, what was I thinking?
I had a gut feeling that he was up to something but I still gave him the benefit of the doubt. I didn't think with my instincts all because I wanted to make Jabi happy. The second I get to the front of the school building, I feel Jabi immediately and just like a map, we are connected. I get to the field in search of him and it is pretty easy. His scent is very strong as I get to the field and my worry intensifies. I just know that something isn't right but I need to find him.
I reach for my phone in my pocket and dial his number. He answers on the first ring and my heart stops for a second.
"Where are you?'' I ask him immediately, still looking around the field.
