The next day, I go into one of the guest rooms that Belis spent the night in and he is already awake and seated on the bed. almost like he was waiting for me to come. "You're up,'' I mutter as I slowly walk into the room.
He looks up and shrugs "I don't sleep.'' he tells me nonchalantly. I haven't figured how I want to handle everything he told me last night. I don't have the words to make him appreciate his life. I don't have a right to tell him that he needs to keep living. As Gyles said, it is his life and he needs to make the choice on his own.
"I need to get ready for work,'' he manages, with a deep exhale. I nod as he stands up from the bed after putting on his shoes.
