Darrien.
I get all the children to the bus in one piece and the ache in my chest soothes a little. My only worry is Jabi and the fact that Cassius is in the community makes it unsafe for him. I will do everything in my power to protect him.
''Come on,'' I climb into the bus with his hands clutching unto mine. I don't plan on letting him go until we are the base. Once I know he is safe, then I will go back.
''Did something go wrong?'' the driver, a friend or rather, an acquaintance of my father asks. There is worry plastered on his face. All the kids and their mothers all have fear-stricken faces. Yes, something happened but they are safe right now.
That is all that matters.
''It is sorted. We need to get away from here,'' I tell him immediately.
He furrows his brows ''Your father didn't tell me that you were coming with,'' he exclaims.
