Chapter 42 - Planning

Fenta was slowly flexing her limbs and lightly moving her head around. Her eyes slowly opened and she smiled when she saw Gro. Tears lined his gruff and dirty face. She almost started to cry when she saw this and he just hugged her close and lightly kissed her lips. "I feel funny, Love,"

Gro huffed out at hearing her voice and he sat back on the ground in relief. "Its because of all the healing i did on you." She lazily looked at me when i spoke and gave a crooked grin. "Fenta is ok?" Cassa slowly walked up to her and the halfing lady grabbed Cassa in a big hug and pulle dher close to kiss her forehead. Cassa scrambled to get away and when Fenta let her go she ran to my side and held on to my shirt. "Ah. Miss Hammermaid. You feelin' better now?" Brinda peared aound me and looked at Fenta. She just nodded to the hostess. "Right then. Food is on the table if your hungry."

Brinda left and Gro picked up Fenta from the bed and carried her to the table. Me and Cassa sat down as did Gro with Fenta in his lap. Gedeon and Alru just stared at our group in shock then both jumped from there seats as Alzi slapped there backs then he ran around to sit between Me and Gro. "Relax you two. We are a small family here." Alzi smiled at them and they resettled themselves.

"Im sure. Judging by your actions to each other." Alru sat as straight up as she could in the small chair. I got the feeling she was a very proper person. Gedeon on the other hand was a little uncouth in his manners. How they managed to be together i will never know but they fit. Brinda brough us more food and she patted me on the shoulder, "On tha house, Quickshot. For all you and ya friends did for us." I smiled as i thanked her and she hurried back to the kitchen.

There was a somber mood in the air as the evening turned to night. Morlin came to the Inn for some food and drink and waved when he saw us. "Morlin! Good to see your still alive." I hugged him and slapped his back a few times. Gro and Cassa greeted him as well but not so casually. "I have a favor to ask. Would you go to the Orc Keep and ask if they would spare some Orcs to help remove the dead Ogre bodies?" Morlin wearily looked to Gro and slowly nodded. "Don't worry. If its a favor for us then my Father will be more then happy to help."

Gro sort of half smiled trying to put the merchant at ease and Morlin nodded then found a table by himself. "I would like to do something about those Necromancers. They caused all this distruction." I looked at Gro and he nodded. Cassa shook her head as she laid in my lap, half asleep from being full. Fenta was the only one who didnt indicate a response. "Are you ok, Fenta?" I asked concerned and she nodded. "I'll go with. I need ta get used to the new hammer anyway." I didnt have to ask Alzi because i knew he would go anywhere i went.

"Alright. Now that's settled. What about you two?" I looked at Alru and Gedeon, "We would be delighted to accompany you." Alru smiled then jumped when the dark skinned man slapped the table, "Too right!" He grabbed onto Alru and kissed her cheek causing a deep blush on her dark face. We laughed at them and told them of our past dealings with necromancers and how we all met and came to be a 'family' as Alzi put it.

The next morning we all got up early and had breakfast together. We discussed a strategy for when we go inside the cave. "If there is any undead that still have some flesh then i will use my fire spell. When we clear the caves, I'll collapse the entrance with my Arrow Burst." I thought that was an appropriate name for exploding arrows and everyone thought so too. "Aye. Fire works best but if they charge us? What then?" I thought for a moment, scratching my rough chin. I hadnt onticed till now that i had fine facial hair coming in. "I will summon my flame elemental to push them back."

Cassa laughed as she remembered the last time i used that spell at the camp. "One thing though." Everyone looked at me, "We will need to bring sticks or heavy cloth for fuel to make the flame elemental stronger if needed." Everyone nodded at this and we figured on bringing fat wood from some rotten trees outside of town. That burns hotter then regular wood and is mainly used to start fireplaces. Now that was settled we figured placements as we would enter.

"Full plates in front. Light armors behind them with me behind and in between with my bow and magic. Cassa and Alzi behind me for stealth if needed." Cassa objected to that, because after her fight with her father, she wanted to be out front. She said that fight was exhilarating and she wanted that feeling again. I reassured her that her skills would be best during distraction. She pouted at me but finally agreed. "From what i know of tha beasts. They live in groups o' five or so. The necro-guys run off three of em' an possibly killed tha other two." Gedeon spoke up after we finished our 'strategy meeting' i guess you could say.

We finished eating and got ready to leave. We passed a few of the folks that lived in outskirts of the town when we exited at the south end. Most of them were helping each other remove the debris that used to be their homes. I sighed as we walked by and shook my head. These people need to be stopped. They caused this destruction even if it wasn't direct.
