Chapter 226 - [Chapter 224] Thoughts And Bloodshed

As I quietly follow the guard, I gaze up at the night sky. Wind blows through the trees as the stars dance in the night sky, like beacons of wishes guiding me to the future. The moon glows brightly in the sky as my mind begins to wander, going over what I have found these past few days.

'First, I find a distressed girl who I think is an elf, only to find out that dragonborn species in this world do not specifically revolve around regular dragonborn. Elf dragon hybrids live in an underground city and are fighting a war with another kingdom. Anyway, I fought another continental class creature, then entered the kingdom to find table stacking in a pub. Then I save a Princess from her mother, create the paint, buy some insanely cheap items that were practically free, and then realized that my system is something else entirely than what I thought. I then compared equipment with a magic sword and now I am here, did I miss anything?' I finish as I ask Sky, who is doing lord knows what.

She is silent for a moment before speaking up, "Not that I can think of…but I need to discuss something with you that I noticed."

'Hm?' My curiosity is piqued as I become serious. I have never heard her speak in such a serious tone, she hasn't spoken this way once before.

"You know how I am in your body and can sense changes? I have been monitoring your body for a while now and noticed something extremely odd. Whenever I go somewhere in your body, it all appears normal but…something is off. I don't know what it is but it's as if you are here…but not here at the same time. Like your constantly shifting! It is hard to explain…" she trails off, her demeanor having completely changed.

I begin to think as I mull over what she has said. I would take this less seriously if this was someone else she is talking about but this is my body. Did something happen to it without me noticing? That should be impossible with my current senses. If I focus, I could sense a fly landing on a leaf hundreds of thousands of miles away. Having the rank of a continental class being is no myth, the senses alone could make S grades break into a seizure from sensory overload.

Granted, there are special cases, like me as I am able to handle it, my mind automatically filtering things out. But what she said has got me thinking as I open up my status, looking at the race.

Race: Aberration

—————————————————————

'Could it have something to do with me being an aberration?' I ask myself in curiosity, that's when I hear Sky's voice again, "What do you mean aberration?"

I inwardly curse within the deepest part of my mind, having been absorbed by my thoughts for just a few moments. I awkwardly explain to her that before she entered my body, I was known as a shadow dragon king. But when she entered my body, I had undergone a change and became an aberration, a mixture of races. Immediately, she begins to throw questions at me, but I shut them down as we enter a clearing, a large field stretching in my view.

As I swiftly gaze across the field, I suddenly see a massive group of soldiers marching out of the trees, all of them veiled in large red cloaks which reach to their feet. Only the sound of feet shuffling can be heard as an older figure leads, riding a scaled mana beast which looks like a giant crocodile. The troops following behind him are carrying staffs, wands, crystal balls, and some odd jewelry on their hoods, their size slowly expanding.

Mages can use many different things to conduit spells such as, a wand, a staff, a crystal ball, a dagger, a brick, a small child, or their own hands. Sadly I have yet to see a small child, but I have seen a brick before. When I eventually got sick of those assassins coming after me a few years ago, I decided I would deal with them. And I did, but one of the mages desperately had to use a brick coated in magic crystal dust to try and stand a chance, only for the spell to explode everywhere.

I shake my head as I come back to the current situation, realizing something odd. A few moments later, a few knights walk up from the back with massive rectangular shields on their backs. Their crimson armor gleams in the light as they line up in front of the casters, hauling out the massive shields with great effort and slamming them onto the ground.

I hear the guide to my side quietly comment, "Igris guards, didn't expect to see any here, they are taking this fight seriously. They must be seriously pissed to also bring these mages though…"

I glance at him as my serious mood grows ever more present, especially when I see his darkened expression, "What do you mean?"

He sees the leader still slowly heading towards us as he hurriedly whispers, "These guys are summoners, and not just regular ones like a beast tamer, they have found a way to summon creatures by praying to a weird god. It has a goat head with too many arms to count. It's horrifying."

My face tenses up as the opposing leader arrives on his dinosaur of an alligator, an angry look on his face. "Hi Matthias, my old friend. How have you been? Apparently pretty well to suddenly have the gall to declare one last battle against our kingdom!"

Matthias's, my guide's, face darkens as he clenches his fists in anger, "It wasn't me Johns, it was supposedly this cunt beside me from what he said. Can we get this over with? At least make my death painless."

Opposing military leaders are usually not left alive due to the danger they pose and the lack of ways to keep them contained.

Johns nods as he turns around, an angry expression on his face, but his eyes are filled with sorrow, meaning there is definitely a story between these two. But I can't think about that as I gaze at the massive army which is still leaving the forest, hundreds of thousands of people swarming out until the field can barely hold them.

I crack my neck as I gaze at the wave of red in front of me, "Great, now I just have to kill thousands of satanic followers that can summon tons of creatures from some unknown plane…fantastic." I says sarcastically as I begin my preparations.

Fighting them would be easy by myself, but it is much more respectful to at least let them fight an army as well.

"Arise!" I yell as my demonic voice echoes across the now silent plain, all movement having stopped as the followers gaze at me curiously. But suddenly, ghastly howls fill up the night as my shadow begins to grow, as if possessed.

'It's showtime.'
