Chapter 222 - [Chapter 220] Goodbye Gifts

Soca stares at the two items in awe before looking up at me, however, she seems unable to form words as she stares at my mask with her mouth wide open from shock. Emily stares at me before looking over at Amelia's figure, the woman who helped guard Soca and whom she considered a friend. Amelia now hangs from the ceiling in a black webbing of tentacles, drenched in an odd substance that she has never seen before.

Soca finally appears to gather herself as she speaks, stuttering out, "What…what is this?"

She gently holds the egg in front of her, it's slimy covering coating her hands. I crouch down as I calmly pat the egg, "This is called a Mishipeshu egg. The creature inside has the ability to become A rank at least, but if treated and trained right, it has a chance to reach my level of power."

I wave my hand as a book appears, one I have had for as long as I have been here. My creature encyclopedia that I had bought from the same kobold I met today 5 years ago. I flip through the pages until I eventually find what I was looking for, the page going over the information on the Mishipeshu such as growth rate, abilities, diet, and usual age of death. But as I read their rarity, I stare in awe. I suddenly hear Sky exclaim in a shocked tone from somewhere in my head, 'Woah! That's morbid as hell!' as we both read over the paragraph.

'Due to this monster's strength, it has very low fertility, making their appearance almost seem curse-like since if you see one, it usually is your last sight. Stepping onto one's territory, if you are so unlucky, will usually meet with your end.'

I stare at the book for a few moments before looking at the egg, 'That thing is a territory whore! Should I really leave it with her?' I ask myself as I stare at the slimy egg, entering a silent contemplation.

But then I see a few tears drop down from Soca's face as she pulls the egg towards her. Her cute face sniffles as tears trace her cheeks, falling to the ground after collecting on her chin for a few moments, "Thank you…I've never had such a truly special gift before…but I don't think I should have it. Just the whip will suffice enough as a beautiful gift." She says as she gently begins to push the egg towards me.

I inwardly groan as I feel as if my heart is beginning to break. 'Why do you have to cry with that face?! Why?! Your tugging my heartstrings into a symphony here!'

I eventually sigh as I hold out a hand, tentacles of shadow carefully pushing the egg towards her, "Take it, I already have two familiars and this thing would bully them."

She looks towards me with a face that could make gods weep as she begins to break down into tears, her happiness clearly displayed in this moment. Emily continues to gently rubs Soca's back as I awkwardly scratch the back of my head, 'Maybe I have it to her at a bad time of the month…or it could be from the sudden emotional rollercoaster of betrayal to gifts…'

I look over at Emily as I point at her blade, "Can I see your dagger?"

She nods silently before gently holding it out, slightly hesitant though. I carefully grab it as I look over the handle, the size being slightly smaller than my hand. I hand the blade back to her, its silver blade gleaming in the light.

I hold out my hand as I activate 'Absolute Shadow', the shadows slowly crawling up my body, eventually reaching my open hand. They fold in on themselves as they merge and mold, creating a blade of similar shape to her's. It has a large spine that smoothly curves downward, eventually ending in a point. The blade has glowing-white carvings of a dragon and a tiger fighting. As if in a blood soaked war, neither has a face of giving up.

I nod at my work before creating a custom handle, molding the shape to the grip markings of her older blade. And after just a few seconds total, the blade has finished. I gently hold it out towards Emily, "This is my gift for lending me your trust, something I know wasn't easy. This blade can defend against anything this city throws at you, so rely on it whenever you need to."

Emily stares at the blade which only took moments to make before nodding, taking the grey handle silently and gazing over the sharp black metal repeatedly, as if a kid with their first dollar.

That's when I suddenly have an aha moment as I search through my storage rings, eventually finding exactly what I am looking for. I open my hand to find two stones in my palm, a plain looking one, and a white one covered in red runes. I hold out the plain one towards Emily as I tell her, "Pour your mana into this stone."

She looks up at me and gently grabs the stone, closing her eyes in concentration. The stone begins to glow as it turns turquoise, a unique rune appearing on the top. I nod and place my stone on her's before she can react, a copy of her rune almost immediately appearing on my runestone.

"These are communication devices, channel mana and it will try and contact whoever you are trying to call. You will know if I can answer or not."

Before she can utter a single word, I stand up and walk towards the door, opening it as I begin to walk out. But I abruptly stop, looking at the duo one last time.

'Let's give them a face to remember.' I tell myself as I remove my mask.

I whistle to grab their attention as my voice echoes in the room which is filled with tears and darkness, "Don't forget about our training, I expect to see a new queen when I get back or I will be very pissed."

Soca's tears suddenly stop as the look of awe reappears on her and Emily's face. Soca slowly looks up to see me smiling cheekily, my purple hair and smooth face combined with my pointed ears and scaled cheeks give a very deep impression. But hearing my voice without the changer is what shocked her the most, having heard only the changer for so long.

Soca stretches her hand towards me, as if to try and stop me, but I close the door behind me before she can say a letter. Suddenly, my face turns serious as I equip my mask yet again, "Now it's time to find that sword!"
