I equip an evil smile as the mask splits, mimicking my evil grin. I release my killing intent as it spills fourth, hitting Taskra like a wave. The goddess in front of me takes a nervous step back before stepping forward again, planting her foot on the ground.
'Who is this kid...and this killing intent is so strong! He was even able to make me take an unconscious step back...I need to tell the other gods about this.' She thinks as she gazes at me.
She clears her throat as she looks at me, steeling her resolve, "The fight is over, you win."
I continue to walk forward till I am in front of her, my height causing her to dwarf in size. "The fight isn't over till she declares defeat. You don't determine the fight, she does."
I point at her student whose eyes are filled with overwhelming fear as she leans in her blade. She bows slightly as she whispers, "I surrender."
I sneer as I turn away, "So much for a Demi-god. Can't even decide when the fight is over herself. Has to have her teacher do it for her."
Taskra clenches her fists, taking this beating to her pride full force. She never would of thought he had a chance to win, more or less, have to have her intervene for her student's mistakes.
When I look over at The Author, he is leaning against a tree with a smile on his face. I arrive at his side as he speaks, "I knew your progress in strength was fast, but to defeat a Demi-god in the mortal realm is definitely something to brag about. Not many can do that, more or less have to have the teacher step in."
I stare at him seriously, "I want that information."
He waves his hands, "Calm down, you beat Taskra's student half to death and aren't even tired. Plus, this isn't a good place to discuss this."
I look around as I notice the large caverns, cuts, craters, and burns plaguing the dead plane. I then look at her student, who has a pained expression on her face as she looks down at her now missing leg.
I nod, "Let's go back to the mountain then, I have no issues discussing this there."
He nods as he waves his hand, a blood red portal appearing to his side. I unhesitatingly jump in, my wings spread wide as I go through.
The Author's face changes to a grim image as he pulls out a leather notebook from who knows where. He opens up the pages as a language written in blood appears on each piece of paper. He lifts up his arm as he moves the cloak, revealing a massive scar on his arm.
He takes his right pointer finger as he cuts across the scar, the edge of his talon turning red. He gently writes a few sentences as a bright red glow appears in the book. Moments later Taskra's student looks back down at her leg stump, a red glow enveloping it as bones and muscle begin to extend, the skin gently enveloping the process as it grows.
A second later, she has a new foot as she gently moves it around, the red aura disappearing as The Author closes his book. The cut on his arm has already disappeared as he cloaks himself, stepping into the portal as the notebook disappears.
I watch as The Author appears from the red portal, the entrance closing behind him as he smiles.
"So what information do you want?"
I sit down on the snowy ground as I stare him down, "Everything."
He sighs as he sits down, "Please be more specific, your mind would be destroyed if I told you everything, not to mention it would take a while."
I glare at him, 'He made me fight a easy fight and I can't let the tension in me be released. He had me scared for nothing.'
"Tell me what you are specifically."
He nods, "I am a revenant, a being that is somewhat like a vampire. The difference is I use my blood to activate skills which increases my thirst, and to quench it, I need human blood."
I point at the tail, "And is that part of being a revenant?"
He nods, "This is controlled by me, but it isn't in battle mode currently."
I continue to ask him questions such as where he comes from, what is it like being a god, and are there ranks of power between gods?
He answers each one calmly, "We live in a separate dimension called the Hall of Gods. It's where most of us meet and relax, sometimes fighting to cool off. But sometime our abilities escape the dimension which can create shooting stars."
"We do have rankings of power, mortals, demi-humans, and gods. But I sit at the peak, and I am the only to thanks to my unique abilities. No gods except mischievous ones try and fight me. And anyone else that has tried usually fails."
I sit silently as I mull over what he said, then a new question appears in my mind, "What did Taskra mean by scouting a student?"
"Us gods can eventually go insane from living for so long, so we raise students so when we enter an eternal slumber, they take our place. I am beginning to reach that point so I have been searching for a student. Luckily, I found you and I request that you become my student once you reach the Demi-god Realm."
He finishes as he bows his head slightly. I think for a moment before asking, "Why can't it be now? Since I beat a Demi-god, doesn't that make me a demi-god?"
"Us gods cannot interfere with the stage of mortal to demi-god due to set rules. However, having kids is a way to bypass that. Sadly, my dating life is abysmal as many find me too intimidating." He finishes with a sigh as I resist every cell in my body to not slap him.
'This is not about your relationships!'
I think for a moment longer as I calm down, "And how do I become a Demi-god?"
He smiles, "The system should handle that. Speaking of, you need to update that thing. It's first generation design is all bugged and can't even assign you mission."
At this moment, a Ping appears in my ears.
