I turn around and begin to walk across the warehouse, each step taking me to my table as I ask, "So what weapon do you want this time?" She has come here for a plethora of different equipment, in fact, the cloak and her blades are the only thing I haven't made for her.
She silently follows my steps as she speaks, "I used a set of curved daggers made by our royal smith, but I feel as if an upgrade was in order and you are the one person that came to mind, plus, he procrastinates so I wouldn't of gotten my blade until the end of this month."
I nod at what she says, knowing the blacksmith for myself, "Yeah, he needs replaced." She nods in agreement as I reach the bench. I look over at her as I hold out my hand, "Give me your blade."
She looks at me confused as she takes off her two daggers, still sheathed. I grab them a snack place them on the table as it glows and scans the two blades. The two blades suddenly show up as a hologram to the sides, the sheath and blade now separate as one hovers above the other.
I look at them disappointed, "Is this really made by your royal blacksmith?" She nods, her face unchanging, "Yes, why?"
"His craft sucks." I say without batting an eye as I begin to look through hundreds of blueprints in my mind until one catches my eye. 'Perfect, I'll use this as the basis.'
Her eyes go wide as she asks, "What do you mean? We chose him because he was the best-"
"I have seen new blade smiths make better blades. So he has either let his craft go or payed his way in." I interrupt, causing her to fall silent as she hears my explanation.
"The only reason these blades lasted this long is because of how skillfully you wielded them and the materials being used." I add on, making my point known.
She stands silent for a moment as she begins to think about it, what I said is true. She has seen better looking blades in shops, but just assumed they were meant to catch people's attention, not actually trying to compare them.
I continue, "I doubt the king would of taken bribery so that would mean it would of had to be a noble or someone of high status in your family to pull the strings. My main question is what they would have to gain from that." I say as I rest my hands for a moment, imagining the finished product.
She continues to sit on that thought as I hold my hand out. Suddenly, shadows begin to gather as they slowly begin to condense, that's when I hear a Ping! A window pops up in front of me when I hear the sound of metal hitting glass.
—————————————————————
Pure shadow mana has been created!
—————————————————————
I stop creating the blade as I look down at a black teardrop resting on the table. I pick it up as I look it over in awe, unable to believe what I am seeing. After so long, 5 whole years, the thing that I have sought for has been created. It glisten with a purple color as I hold it, smoke seemingly frozen inside. 'Inspect.'
—————————————————————
Pure Shadow Mana is a condensation of shadow. It is very rare and only forms from a black tear flower, which can be found in caves rich with shadow mana.
—————————————————————
I stare at the glistening black tear when I feel a hand tap my shoulder. Before the owner can even react. I pull out my kunai and am behind the cloaked figure, the kunai pressed against her scaled neck. I come to as I see a white Dragonborn in my grasp. I immediately let go as I realize I am holding her so close to death, "Sorry, you startled me."
Sweat rolls down her face as she says, "I told you you would make a great assassin." She wipes it off as she is mentally shaken. Her, a royal assassin who was trained to kill silently, could of died from a knife to her throat. She never would of imagined that, being unable to react in time is a shocking new feeling to her.
I wave my hand and store the droplet as I continue to make the blade, 'I will look at my miracle later, I have a reputation to uphold and a spoiled king to teach lessons to.' That's when I remember me and Liz's conversation about me becoming a royal blacksmith.
'The princess might of not known but the king already knew of my skills, I created a concealable armor he wears and in return, he gave me this entire plain. I think it was a good deal as I benefited a lot from it.' I think as I hold out my hand again, the blade melting before it suddenly begins to be created again.
I look at the blade as the shadows build on top of one another, forming a blade with a stiff curve, as if a weird L. I create a fuller as I put my signature stamp on the bottom of the blade. I put a copy of the exact handle onto the blade and hold out the two for her as I explain. "These are called Jile, they are a set of blades and come from a place different than where I am from, now please leave as I have to deal with a certain entitled man."
"You can just put the money on the workbench." I say as she nods and sets a large brown sac onto the table. Picking up the blades, she swings them around agilely the air sounding as if it's splitting itself. I smile as she whispers, "Their perfect."
