The door closes and I see a screen in front of me. It's slightly see through as it glows from the holo-watch I have on my wrist. The watch is a small band that is strapped to the wrist. In the center is a small vent that has different colors for each hole.
The screen displays a watch icon among many others. I press on it and scroll through the names until I reach one that is in my blocked list. A number nicknamed 'Dickhead'. I click on it and watch as the icon I clicked on floats to the middle of the screen and starts shaking while emitting an echoing ring throughout the bedroom. It's a simple room with a queen sized bed and television on a metal dresser. I glance over at the mirror that is hanging on my wall, my pale skin reflecting off of it.
'It's been about 10 years since I became a manager. I can't believe that I even became one. If it wasn't for that one person.....'
Suddenly, the ringing stops and is met with a cheery arrogant voice. "Heeeeeey Samantha! We haven't spoken in ages! How have you been?" She looks back at the screen to see a handsome guy with turquoise hair and blood red eyes, a sharp jaw and a slightly slim head. He is currently smiling at her, putting off a cheery air.
'I can't believe this idiot is the cube executive.....' she thinks as she stares daggers at him. "Hello executive."
He looks shocked and laughs, "Come on Samantha! I have told you to call me Mike! We have known eachother since we were kids!" He says as his grin turns ugly. 'Friends as kids my ass, you bullied me till I cried, everyday. Your the reason I am who I am today.' She thinks as she is thankful that killing intent can't be felt through screens.
"Anyway, I doubt you called me for a pleasant chat, what was it that you wanted to talk about?" He says as he nonchalantly spins in his chair, like without a care in the world then he grabs a cup and goes to take a drink.
'Imbecile.' She thinks as she clears her throat. "We found someone who claims to be from outside of the cube." He turns to the side and spits his drink, dark brown liquid flying from his mouth. He turns to her and swipes his mouth with his free hand. "What?" All arrogant ness disappears as he wears a face of shock before becoming serious.
"You are sure he is from outside the cube?" He says, his voice cold with a business demeanor.
I nod and look at him with a face just as serious. "He has an ability that isn't from the cube, I guarantee it."
He sits there and rubs his chin, seemingly in thought, before looking up. "What was his ability, and how did you figure it out?"
She contemplated for a moment before sighing and saying. "He assaulted a teacher in supposed self defense. He wore what looked like armor made from his shadows, it covered his entire body and was able to withstand attacks from the teacher if I am correct."
His pupils constrict as he says in a deadly tone, "Where are you taking him, I am going to arrange a trap to capture him. Call two of the managers from other districts, we need better commanding forces to do this correctly."
I gasp in shock and immediately try to deter him. "There is no need for that, he was very cooperative with my questions and kind as well." He immediately retorts, leaving no wiggle room for discussion.
"He attacked a teacher and could be strong enough to take out an apex manager, I am not taking any chances with a force if he is outside, and he could be avoiding to talk about certain topics, we need to know how he got in as well. Now where are you taking him and when?"
"Please reconsider Mike, I truly think he means no harm."
"He attacked a teacher in what you even said could be a supposed self defense. Which means he could of attacked for mere fun. No more arguments. Take this as a command, tell me where you will be taking him."
She sighs, her once cold eyes now filled with sadness. "The arena...."
"I'll send about 200 of our manager ceremony guards, when you see the best moment, launch your attack. I will not accept failure, even fight yourself if you must."
All of a sudden, the screen becomes a blank blue with 'call ended' in the middle of the screen. She sighs and calls up her two managers. Her eyes now filled with sadness. 'He didn't even let me tell him about Kurayami's request. What a dick.'
She is suddenly brought back to reality by the continuous screams of men and women, yelps, barks, and screeches as blood sprayed everyone, like deadly lotuses were blooming through the crowd, death following to increase its growth. A never ending cycle of blood and bodies. Almost every soldier is wiped out as she stares in awe, and then in fear.
'He is going to kill me, I bet the executive manager doesn't even care about what is happening right now. Damn bastard.' She thinks as she watches the battle unfold before her, the once lively battlefield is now filled with corpses as the stench of blood spreads across the room like a wave with nowhere to go.
All of a sudden, she feels a massive amount of pressure her direction as she looks over at the now quiet scene, the other two managers are standing there in awe at the scene they just witnessed. 327 people, dead. There are no more screams as they stare over the corpse ridden battlefield, only three people standing.
The three walking shadows are glaring at Samantha's direction, the killing intent even thicker than the scent of blood which engulfs the room. And slowly they all begin walking towards her. 'Shit.' She thinks as she walks in front of Winter, who was mesmerized by what just happened. She is awoken by her mother grabbing her shoulders and looking at her dead in the eyes.
"Look, I know you hate me, and I'm sorry about everything, but I want you to head home and lock the door, don't open it up for anyone except your dad, alright?" She says with a slight plead in her cold voice.
Winter stands there, shocked by the scene. 'My mother cares about me? No way, this has gotta be a scheme.' She thinks as she looks over at Kurayami, "I trust him more, after all, you just launched a sneak attack on him with about a few hundred soldiers and still failed. Plus, he was there when I needed help, unlike you."
She glances at her before turning back, seemingly ignoring Winter, preparing for the reaper who is slowly heading towards her.
She stares at the figure, and begins to transform. Her face becomes maws, maws filled with fangs. Her ears grow larger becoming a massive pair of black bat ears. Her eyes turn red and her body grows larger, fur growing thick, and webbing appears under her arms. Now stands an aberration of a bat and werewolf, a fully black blood sucking werewolf.
She looks back at Kurayami who is slowly walking towards her, the scythe gleaming in the light, she shivers a bit, as if she is staring at the reaper itself.
She stares at death itself before suddenly Kurayami is flying through the air before catching himself and floats there, staring at the person who attacked him with his purple stare.
She stands there, shocked by what she just witnessed. One minute, Kurayami is standing there, ready to fight for the death, second, a mass of scales rammed into death itself, giving her more time to prepare to fight for her life. She stares at the massive werewolf, it is covered from head to toe in scales and has fur on its haunches and tail.
"Don't leave us out of this. You think we are the same as that cannon fodder you are wrong." Says a blue bat as it lands beside the scaled wolf.
"And we could take him down easily. After all, it's only three people." He looks from Kurayami to the two shadow soldiers, seeing the massacre that had occurred. Body parts everywhere, blood staining the metal floor.
"So you think it's only us three?" Kurayami says as he lands with a wide grin, his demonic voice echoing throughout the blood filled room. But the shadow armor stays emotionless as it stares at the group, giving off a deadly aura.
'Something is wrong.' Everyone thinks as they look around, ready for an ambush, even Winter is looking around, confused. Dreag and slime Winter are hiding behind the door, peaking in to see what is going on when he sees three large creatures he hasn't ever seen before. When he suddenly see a shadow covered dragonborn. 'Kurayami?' He thinks as he holds the slime to the best of his ability, trying to keep him from jumping into the fight. "What are those two things?' He asks himself as he looks at the two ninjas who have wisps of black flowing off of them.
When suddenly, the black shadow of a dragonborn opens his mouth, yelling one word in a voice, making him sound as if a demon summoning his army. "Arise!"
