He looks at his son and motions for him to get up and to stand beside him. His son stands up and walks over to him and as he does, his father grabs his shoulder and points at the painting that was behind his seat. "Do you remember the tale of the divine beasts?" His son just looks at him, "Yeah? Why?"
"Can you retell the story for me?" His son looks at him, his face confused, but nods. "The tale of the six divine beasts is only known to royal families and those who greed for power but it starts at the beginning of our world. They were born into existence by our gods to help keep balance to our world. Each Divine Beast represents a natural affinity and a unique affinity. And it was all well, until the evil god Baalagraum decided to stir trouble in our world, causing war, and making the divine beasts choose sides, eventually leading to their death. But their power wanders the world, searching for a host worthy of it. And supposedly this power is so powerful as to stop aging at the user's will but since so many are envious of this power, they try to kill the host before they can use the abilities, hoping to contain and force the power into their own body."
"But kingdoms will usually try to bring the divine beast to their side, making wars almost one sided. Why did you want me to recall this?" He asks his father irritated. His father looks at him and asks a question the youth didn't expect. "What order from strongest to weakest are the divine beings ordered in?"
His son closes his eyes, pondering. "I believe there are three tiers, chimera and wolf, dragon and puma, and the last is elephant and griffin....why?" He looks back at the painting, the giant black dragon breathing fire blacker than it's scales into the sky. "I think we found the dragon."
Jack's eyes go wide as his father says the word "dragon." "Your saying you found the dragon divine beast?! I want to come with to see him myself! Please father!" He says, starting to beg. "I'm sorry, but you must stay here, but if all goes well, you can meet him here." He says while waving at the castle. His son looks down, slightly upset, but when he hears he might be able to meet him anyway, he relents. "Ok....."
As Jack says that, a butler enters the room, "My king, the cart has been prepared, everything is packed and everyone is inside, we only wait for you."
"Thank you, your as quick as ever." The butler bows at his King's response and leaves soundlessly. The king looks at his son and pats his shoulder. "I'm counting on you." 'Nothing important is going on currently so I hope he is alright with just menial tasks.' He turns around and walks through what seems like endless corridors, his knight following suite, until he comes out of the main entrance.
He walks out to see snow, lazily falling down, gently kissing the land with its cold touch. He sees a large black box with the kingdoms crest on the doors, the driver sitting in a glass container on the front, holding onto a single stick between his legs and a peddle under his foot. He nods at his king and continues to wait, reading a book. The king walks over and enters the wheeless cart, followed by his knight.
His daughter smiles at him, beaming with excitement and beside her is a 27 year old orc, he has a long beard that reaches down to his chest and has hair on his head, reaching down to the back of his neck, both braided in a straight line. His face looks rough, his jaw just out, showing his two massive bottom tusks. He looks like a man that would be found fighting in an arena but is dressed quite the opposite. He is wearing a blue sweater with a white shirt and brown pants with leather shoes, his glasses shine in the light as he is currently reading a book on light magic, his eyes shining with intelligence. The king sits down, nods to them both, and knocks on a door to his left, signaling that he is in.
"Let's head to Lycon."
Meanwhile in Lycon, Kurayami is reading a book he got off of the shelf in his room. He sighs and looks up at the ceiling, boredom written on his face. "This new world is awesome....but I'm bored already! Who knew that TV and electronics put this much of an impact on my brain." 'Guess I should start my newest mission.'
I look around and get up, putting the book back on the shelf. And throw on the box on my back, Winter jumping onto my head. And I head downstairs. I look around a bit to see dad training Aeron in the backyard. I walk out and grab his attention. He waves at Aeron to continue his movements with his blade, which appears to be a long sword, and he jogs over to me.
"What is it Kurayami?"
"I was wondering if I could have some money and explore the town, it's been over three weeks after all and I haven't left the house."
He contemplates for a bit before giving me two gold coins and five silver. He gets down on one knee and looks at me, his eyes serious. "I want you to be back here before dinner. I wouldn't let any other ten year old do this but I know you can fend for yourself if you get into trouble. Remember, no stealing and be safe."
Ping!
