Feng Xi knew this was a gamble. But she also knew if her dreams were real she would have the capital to begin building a business empire. After staring at the numbers going up and down for a while, Feng Xi finally closed her laptop. The next thing she needed to do was to cancel the engagement with that bastard Tang Zhi.
Although she would not be of marriageable age for another two years, she remembered that in her dream she did not actually get married until she was twenty one. This is if her dream was true. There was one other thing about this marriage, and that it would be very hard to cancel.
Her father and stepmother were very strict about the old traditions as were most noble families. Her father being a renowned and feared general who was loved by the Imperial family was enough to know that he was a man of old traditions.
"Ru'er, how do I get out of a marriage I want no part in..." Feng Xi muttered to herself. She actually did not want Ru'er to answer her question, it was more of a vocal complaint than anything.
"What did you say, Young Miss?" Ru'er who was on the other side of the room was currently making Feng Xi's bed when she could faintly hear her name being called.
"Nothing just talking to myself. School starts in a few days does it not?" Feng Xi frowned. Originally she was bad at school. Always overshadowed by her sister Feng Lan who always got top scores. Though she called Feng Lan her sister they were not full blooded sisters. Feng Lan was her father's second wife's daughter, her name was Jiang Yi. Jiang Yi was a member of the Jiang family, a lower noble family who rose up through the ranks thanks to Jiang Yi catching the favor of the General.
Feng Xi's mother had passed away five years ago due to an illness. It was not until two years ago did her father remarry. Ever since Jiang Yi entered the family she had never treated Feng Xi wrong. In fact, she treated Feng Xi better than her own daughter. But after that dream, Feng Xi had a feeling that things were not as they seem. Because the Jiang family and the Tang family have close ties.
This would be the year that Feng Xi would finally meet her betrothed Tang Zhi. Until now they had not even spoken to each other, but since she was now sixteen they could be officially engaged in the eyes of the Imperial family.
"Yes, Young Miss, you will be heading back to the academy in four days' time," Ru'er answered.
'Four days… that means two days after today I will meet that bastard!' Feng Xi's eyes showed a hint of killing intent that quickly disappeared.
Feng Xi calmed her nerves and let out a small sigh. 'I will need to make sure I pass all my classes far ahead of Feng Lan. Before I did not like to study but once I met that bastard...' Feng Lan and her were in the same grade, Feng Xi's birthday was before Feng Lan's making Feng Lan the younger sister. With Feng Lan always scoring top of the class and Feng Xi always at the bottom, she was always compared to her sister at school and at home.
It was not until the day of their first meeting that Feng Xi began to take school seriously. She fell in love with Tang Zhi wanting to help him and be the best wife in the world for him. She worked hard pulling many all-nighters to learn as much as she could. It had actually turned out that once Feng Xi applied herself she was much smarter than Feng Lan.
Feng Xi had what was called a photographic memory. She was able to remember everything she looked at, at a glance. This was how she excelled in college and was able to get a few bachelor's degrees in just a few years. But now she wanted to take a short cut. If she could gain the scores needed she might be able to be emitted into a collage by the time she turned eighteen.
"Ru'er, bring me all my school books for this coming year." Feng Xi decided she would do a refresh on this year's books just in case things were different from what she remembered. This was also to test if her memories were real or just an illusion from her dream
"Young Miss?" Ru'er looked at Feng Xi blankly. 'Was this not my Young Miss? Did she get replaced with someone? Was she not the one who said studying is a waste of time?' Of course, these questions would always go unanswered, since Ru'er would never ask such things out loud.
"Just bring them all here." Feng Xi chuckled, it was a reaction she actually expected from Ru'er. It was the same reaction she would get in a few days from now when she asked this the very same question.
An hour later Feng Xi was surrounded by many books. From math books to history books. As she glanced at each book she also referenced what she remembered in her mind from her dreams. Surprisingly, everything matched up. The more she read, the more it became clear to her that what she had experienced before was not a dream. It was actually real!
After only two hours of reading through books did she put them all down then open her laptop again. She searched the web for a few online college courses that had some classes that were recorded and posted on the web.
"Young Miss what are you watching?" Ru'er who had just finished refreshing Feng Xi's tea asked.
"It's a class on Chinese medicine. I am checking something." Feng Xi explained. Ru'er only hummed since she did not understand what was being talked about and began making herself busy with packing Feng Xi's clothes for her trip back to the academy in a few days.
After watching the video Feng Xi finally closed the laptop and fell back on to the couch. She stared up at the ceiling a little shocked and a little amazed at the same time. "It's all the same. Everything that I remember is the same."
Letting out a light laugh Feng Xi excitedly kicked her feet in the air, startling Ru'er who was not too far away. "Did the heavens answer my wish to be able to do things over again?"
After watching the video on Chinese medicine, Feng Xi was now certain she was given a second chance at life. A chance to do things over again. This time she would not believe in the lies and deceit of those people. She would show them what she was made of and get her revenge on each and every one of those bastards!
While Feng Xi was relishing in the fact that she was getting a second chance at life a knock came at her door. "Big sister Xi are you in?"
When the voice reached Feng Xi's ears her body shivered as she remembered the scene of Feng Lan slicing and carving her face with a knife as she laughed. A cold expression formed on Feng Xi's face that startled and scared Ru'er who saw it. Ru'er quickly backed away and hid in the corner of the room, afraid to go near Feng Xi. The bloodlust that Feng Xi was emitting was not something a young girl her age should ever have. But just hearing that voice and remembering everything that had happened to her in her past life, made Feng Xi's blood boil.
Feng Xi slowly made her way to the door doing her best to get her emotions under control. Forcing a smile Feng Xi opened the door to reveal a young girl with a cute face looking back at her with a smile. "Big Sister Xi, I ... "
*Slam!*
"Ahh!"
Feng Xi, waited for Feng Lan to start walking through the door before slamming the door right in her face. There was a scream and then a thud sound. Feng Xi knew for sure that Feng Lan had smashed her face and fell down. Feng Xi quickly opened the door and gasped in surprise. She put on a concerned sisterly look as she said ina worried tone: " Lan'er I am so sorry! I saw a huge spider hanging down and out of fear I slammed the door on you! Are you hurt? Oh no your nose is bleeding!? What should we do!?"
