"Unnoticed, hidden by bushes, there underneath a tree,
Lies the unconscious shadow of a young child shaded by the leaves.
The wind blows against it and birds perch on it, yet it still doesn't wake.
But soon it will, to relive and experience a world it had once escaped."

Extra Details:
This Novel is written in second person so there is a lot of "you" to make it like you are the one in the story.
"Sitters" - people who are hired by medium to poor income families to stay in their households and protect the family by fighting off the monsters that come from the shadows. The Sitters are called Sitters because the families that hired them will let them stay in their houses and feed them meals in return for protection. They "sit" in the house and wait for the monsters to come. The rich/well off also hire sitters, but usually just pay them with money. (Most sitters are orphans who lost their parents.)
"Substitutes" - slave children or youth purchased by rich/well off families that are groomed and well fed and trained in loyalty. They are used as sacrifices to the shadow monsters so the monsters don't take the members of the rich/well off families. (Most substitutes could pass as either gender, that way the monster's target preference is fulfilled and the monster will want to consume the substitute instead of their original target.)
