[Johan's POV]
White light coming from the street lamppost illuminated their front yard already. They left the basketball court past six in the evening, so it was already dark when they reached home. The wheels of Raymond's bike skidded into a stop in front of the red gate, and Johan hopped onto the pavement, feeling the ride ended too soon even though it took at least half an hour for Raymond to pedal from school to their house.
"See you tomorrow?" Johan said hopefully, fighting the powerful impulse to reach out and give Raymond a hug. He's been having that strong feeling lately: the need to be closer, to see Raymond every day. He wanted to curl next to him and just sleep there forever.
"Tomorrow's Saturday, though," Raymond said, his index fingers playing with the brake.
"Oh. Right. I'll see when you're free then."
