She slept sweetly tucked into Damon's oversized cloak until they were almost to shore. She dreamt that she had woken up in the library and this had all been just a Greek myth she read.
"Ophelia, you got to wake up." Damon shook the strange girls shoulders gently.
"Five more minutes.." She closes her eyes before they shoot open and she went to scream. Damon was quick and covered her mouth.
"By gods, you are a strange girl for sure." He started readying to dock the boat on shore. "Hope you enjoyed your beauty rest. We're going to have a long trip ahead of us to get you to someone who may have an idea of what or who you are."
Ophelia blinked and started to panic her cheeks matching her fiery hair. She slept next to a stranger. She's in this mans clothing. She is on a boat at the coast of the Aegean with a man who she could see more clearly now. His tunic was loose exposing his chest as he prepared the boat and began docking it. She caught herself staring at him but not before he caught her. A small smirk danced at the edge of his lips before it gave way to a smile.
"Don't have men where your from?" The question embarrassed Ophelia making her turn away from him. "Ah, Woman of Ogygia eh? Did you offend your dear Calypso?" He laughed enjoying watching Ophelias reactions. He couldn't tell if she was just sheltered or if she was truly shy.
"I am not a nymph, I'm a human!"
"Well human, welcome to Athenas. Our pride and joy of Greece."
Ophelia finally looked past Damon out onto the vast sprawling city in front of her. The temples and statues straight from the page of one of her beloved books. A myriad of faces. Horse like bodies. Snake like bodies. Women who disappeared into water or the very nature around them. The sounds of hooves and the appearance of horns. What looked to be a lion on a chain, but it had clipped wings being drug in a cave. She started watching for a long while picking out human faces and creatures she had only read about. Her green eyes locked wide with amazement and fear. Why isn't she back in the library? Why is she still dreaming?
Her trance was suddenly broken when Damon stepped off the boat onto the shore to exchange words with a crude man with wire like black hair and dark shifty eyes. The mans bare chest came down to the body of a black horse at least 14 hands tall. He toward over Damon.
"I asked you to bring me fish... looks like you brought me another tasty treat. You can pay the coin to dock here or you could let me have her for an hour." The centaur waved his hand at Ophelia who pulled Damon's cloak around her tighter and stepped up to be behind Damon using him as shield. He saved her once.. would he do it again?
