"It's all your fault, " Lucas heard a voice say, there was a figure of a lady. "You could have prevented it from happening, then the bomb wouldn't have exploded." He retaliated, "How could I have stopped it from happening? I didn't know that was going to happen. " She glared at him, her brown orbs seemed to be glowing read as she did. "Exactly, you should've, then all of this wouldn't have happened. My daughter's not safe around you." "Your daughter? Melissa?" Lucas's eyes widened in shock. The shadows faded away and her saw her, it was Melissa indeed. Suddenly, she turned away and started to run into a dark forest. "Melissa, wait! Come back!" he called after her, "Melissa, please come back! Don't leave me again!" Tears ran down his cheeks, he was desperate to see his beloved wife again.
He heard another voice shout to him, "Don't listen to her, she's not the real Melissa! I am!" He turned to his right to see Melissa next to him. 'What?' he thought confusedly, his face morphed into one of shock. "She's a fake! She's just trying to get into your head, to manipulate you. Please, believe me, " she pleaded, "You've got to believe me." Many tears were dropping down her face like a stream. "I believe you, the real Melissa wouldn't say things like that, " he responded with a slight smile. "No! No! No, you were supposed to follow me, not her! " the fake Melissa ran from the forest and screamed at him, "You were supposed to fall into my trap!" The real Melissa grabbed his cheek and made him face her, "Look at me, Lucas, you need to wake up now! Wake up!" Lucas attempted to wake up but it didn't work. "I can't, it's not working." "Oh no! She's gotten you trapped in your dream, come with me, " she grabbed his hand and ran.
Through the forest, they dashed, the clone rushing after them. Melissa's eyes darted through the trees, looking for somewhere to hide. 'A hollow, perfect, ' she thought as she gently pushed Lucas into the hollow and soon followed after. "We need to be quiet, " she whispered to him, "Don't make a sound." They heard footsteps close to them. "Lucas, my dear, where are you? Come to your wife, your real wife, " fake Melissa sung to him, "Come out, come out wherever you are." In Lucas's opinion, she somehow managed to sound both creepy and angelic at the same time, it was scary. "Or else, I'll have to make you!" she hissed at him.
After a couple of minutes, fake Melissa finally gave up, thank goodness for that. "Ok, she's gone, " Melissa sighed in relief. "Melissa, you told me that this is a dream but why does it feel so real? Why can't I wake up?" Lucas asked her. "It feels real because it is real, your dream has became reality and that's why you can't wake up, " was the response he received. Melissa grabbed his hand, yet again, and ran off with him. "Where are we going?" "We're getting out of your dream?"
Melissa dug a hand into her pocket and picked up a map. "We're here, " she pointed to what looked like their names written on the map, "We need to get here, " she pointed to an 'X' on the map not far from where they were. "If we run fast enough, we could should get there in about five minutes. " They ran towards the 'X', determined to get there on time. They didn't realise that the evil clone was waiting there right at their destination.
"So, you came, right on time too, " the evil clone smirked at them. "We won't let you get away with this, 'Millie'!" Melissa exclaimed at her. 'Millie, so that's her name, ' Lucas thought. "I already have, Melissa!" Suddenly, the ground began to rumble. 'What's going on?' Lucas thought. Rock monsters began rising from the ground, forming an army. "We need to get out of here quick, we still have time. All we have to do is get past them, " Melissa cried. "I can help with that, " Lucas lifted them up with his levitation abilities and got them over the army and to a strange wooden door with an oval shaped hole. Melissa got out a crystal necklace and placed it into a hole. The door began to glow a beautiful shade of blue and opened up, inside was what looked like a portal with many colours swirling through it. As they walked in, the last thing they heard was, "I'll get you back, just you wait!"
When they arrived on the other side, there was a pretty field with lush green grass and weird but dainty flowers. "What is this place?" Lucas asked, "It's amazing!" "This is, well, I'm not quite sure, but the people call it 'Sensetoor'" "Melissa, you're supposed to be dead but you seem alive to me, why is that?" he questioned. "Well, I'm not sure of that either, I just woke up here." Lucas asked again, "Have you been here for ten years?" Melissa's eyes widened in shock, "Ten years, of course not! I've only been here for two years." 'What if time goes by differently here? If two years is ten on Earth, then what would happen to Lucas when he gets back, would it be a year of a couple months later? What if they think he's dead there?' Melissa thought worriedly.
(What will happen to Lucas? Where are they? Will Lucas ever return? What will happen to Evie if her father's not there? Find out in the next chapters.)
