Chapter 13 - The First School Challenge

Chapter 13

Ugh, it was Monday, sigh, I walked over to my locker, dialing in the numbers, I placed my books into it.

Ding-ding, I hurried to my classroom C-7 and sat down in my chair next to Mark.

I smiled at him, "Hey, dude."

Mark smiled back, "Hey, man."

Ding-ding, the teacher, Mr.Trent, was talking about the organism and its relationship to the environment, I yawned, sigh, I was still tired.

All through the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th periods, I was bored.

I walked to the Martial Arts club. I opened the door.

William walked up to me, telling me, "Adam, an Martial Arts club from another school, has challenged us."

I looked at William, "What does that mean?"

William sighed, "It means we are going to fight them, they said to bring 4 of our best fighters, tomorrow at 4:00 at their school."

I nodded, "Okay, so which school challenged us?"

William said, "Lexington High, there about 45 minutes to an hour away from here. You need to pick 3 more people to come with you."

I nodded, there were 12 people in this club, so I picked, "William, Mark, Shane, will you guys come with me to Lexington High?"

Mark nodded, "Sure."

Shane grinned, "Hell yeah, man."

William shrugged.

I smiled, "Okay it's decided, these three will go with me if any of you disagree with this decision, your welcome to try to beat them in a match."

I looked around the room, "Anyone? No? Okay, see you guys later, lunch is going to be ending soon."

All through French and Physical Education, I was jittery, fidgeting with my fingers or anything I could get my hands on.

Finally, school ended, I quickly walked to the Martial Arts Club.

I went over to William, "So, what happens if we win?"

William shrugged, "Our ranking goes up, we are currently number 4."

I raised my eyebrows, "Number 4, that's not bad, right?"

William sighed, "Yeah, it's not bad, but this time we're going to be fighting the number 3 school, they defeated us last year."

I looked at William, "Last year? So does that mean we were number 3 before them?"

William nodded, "They defeated me, but now that we have a stronger Captain, we might be able to win."

I nodded, then I looked at the clock, "Oh crap, we're going to be late!" It was almost 3 PM.

William got up, "So, who's car are we taking?"

I shrugged, "I could call Avery." I called him Avery because Mark and Shane were walking up to us.

Shane grinned, "So what's this I hear about that little girl, Avery?"

I sighed, when Adam hears this he is going to kick Shan's butt, "I'm going to call Avery and ask her to ask Thomas for a ride to Lexington High."

Shane grinned, "Ask her to come with us."

I stared at him, "The car only holds 5 people."

Shane sighed, "William, would you mind riding your motorcycle? Oh, and maybe bringing Adam with you?"

I raised an eyebrow, "Why do I have to ride with William? You're the one who wanted Avery to come with us."

Shane looked at me, "I thought you liked riding with William?"

I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, fine."

I called Adam.

Ring-ring, Adam picked up, "Hello, Avery."

I said, "Hey, Avery, can you send Thomas, please? I need to get to Lexington High."

Adam asked, "Um, why Lexington?"

I sighed, "They challenged us so we have to go to their school to fight them."

Adam said, "Sure, Thomas will arrive in 5 minutes-" before he could say bye, Shane grabbed my phone.

"Hey, little girl, come with us," Shane said, I sighed, Adam was going to hurt him so badly, he hates it when Shane calls him that.

I couldn't hear Adam's response because the phone wasn't on the microphone but by the sound of it he was mad, I sighed.

Shane was smirking, "Ha, no, Adam will be riding with William, so there will be enough space for you."

A few minutes later, Adam arrived, he walked over to Shane and kicked his shin, hard.

Shane hopped around on one foot, muttering, "Ow, ow, ow, crap, crap she kicks hard."

Adam walked over to me, "Ugh, I hate him!"

I sighed, "He's annoying, but you get used to it."

Shane glared, "I'm not annoying."

I shrugged, "Whatever you say, Shane."

Adam said, "Hey guys, let's go, or we're going to be late, I call sitting next to anybody but Shane."

Shane scowled, "Why anybody else but me?"

Adam and Shane bickered to the car and ended up sitting next to each other, with Mark in the shotgun.

William and I walked over to his motorcycle.

I asked, "How are you able to ride a motorcycle? Don't you have to be 21?"

Wiliam shrugged, "I'm 16 and a half, I completed a motorcycle safety course."

I nodded, "Cool, let's go before we're late."

It took about 50 minutes to get to Lexington High. Mark, Shane, and Avery walked up to us,

A dude walked up to use, "Are you guys from the Princeton High Martial Arts Club?"

I nodded, "Yeah. We're from the Princeton High Martial Arts Club."

He nodded, "Common follow me."

We walked for a few minutes, the dude opened the door to the classroom A-2, saying, "Hey, Bane, their here."

The guy Bane turned around, grinning, "So you're finally here, huh? I'm Bane Miller." He looked like he was about 6'2, he had dark hair and stormy blue eyes.

Bane continued, "And this is Abe Lawson." He looked about 6 foot tall, he had golden-brown hair and green eyes."

Bane gestured to another guy, "That's, James Evens." He was about 6'3, black hair and grey eyes.

Bane said, "And last but not least, Arik Dean." Arik looked 6'4, red hair and blue eyes.

I said, "I'm Adam Darkwaters, that is William Smith, Shane Davis, and Mark Bladesmith. Oh, and over there is my twin sister, Avery Bane."

Bane nodded at us, "So if we're all acquainted, let's fight."

And thus, started the first school challenge.
