MingYu opened his eyes to the glimmering gold and blood-red curtains lining the high pillars surrounding the dragon throne. He blinked, trying to grasp his surroundings and how come he had ended in here of all places.
He was in a palace.
MingYu walked a few steps up to brush his fingers over the throne, trailing after the dragon scales that were carved into the arms of the chair. This was where he, as Wu TianLan, had seated, ruling over this court and land. He could still recall the moment young Wu TianLan had hidden behind the throne with Lee SunLiu and Ruan AnChen, eavesdropping on the hunting banquet.
It was so fresh in his mind, yet so distant. Those memories were there, but he didn't feel connected to any of them, as if they were another person's memories where he only had access to.
