As the pouring rain came to a halt, it was already nightfall. Lingering rain clouds covered the sky, turning the faint moonlight eerie as it dispersed into the rising fog.
Looking down the street, MingYu couldn't make out any outlines of the nearby buildings. Only looming, obscured shadows stood within the mist. His breath formed wispy vapours, adding to the fog that was slowly fading away as it entered their room through the open window.
Another day wasted was the only thought that assaulted MingYu's mind, berating him over how useless he had been this entire time. Pushing the window close, he made his way back to the bed, slow in his movements as he struggled to accept his failure.
ZhiYi was already nodding off on the bed. The only thing keeping him on the edge of sleep was the familiar warmth of MingYu missing by his side. Impatient was an understatement as he watched from under half-closed lids how MingYu was practically crawling his way to bed.
