Her grandfather was overjoyed upon seeing the little angels when he arrived. The house had been frequently visited by guests coming with gifts and happy wishes for the couple.
Arthur had been so busy with his wife and the newborns to care about the number of strangers who had entered his home.
"It's the second week and they still keep coming. How many friends and new family did you gain when you married Arthur?" Irene grumbled.
Rose turned her tired eyes to her friend, " While his family isn't big but the company and his other friends all became my family too "
Dorothy came in with a smile and two glasses of juice, " That was the last guest for the day, you can rest up now " she said.
Rose took a sip of the juice and headed to her room.
"Dorothy and Irene please take care of them while I take a short nap "
"Okay you go rest, Dorothy will assist me " Irene assured her.
The twins had just fallen asleep after being fed so she had enough time to rest.
Sleep took over her the moment her body hit the bed.
She had been missing sleep cause of the twins and her recurring nightmares.
"No don't please... please don't " she screamed.
Arthur had just returned from work when he found Rose crying in her sleep. Rushing to her side he woke her up.
She opened her eyes filled with tears, he hugged her now worried about her.
"You haven't been sleeping well the past few days, what's wrong love?" he wiped her tears.
Still trembling she held him, " I don't know but the dream keeps happening every time I close my eyes " she cried.
"What dream?" he asked.
"I always see myself covered in blood...and then I hear little voices calling me. And when I turn the twins are there staring at me also covered in blood but with someone dragging them away," she cried. " I don't know what it means but am terrified to even think about anything bad happening to our children ".
Arthur held her until Rose calmed down and after falling back to sleep he went downstairs to check on the twins.
Irene was watching over them. Dorothy had just received little Arthur from kindergarten.
"I think Rose deserves a break from all this," he said.
Irene nodded, " Yeah I agree, she's been through a lot since the pregnancy and it was an exhausting birth "
"Am going to arrange something for her and I want you to join her maybe even Vivian?" he said.
"That would be wonderful. I just hope she does agree " said Irene.
And she was right, ever since Rose gave birth she had turned into a worry freak. Not leaving the twins for too long or being alone. She would stare out the window for hours or Arthur would find her alone hidden crying.
Everyone had noticed but never said anything. They all thought maybe it was post-depression.
But he was determined to help her return the Rose they all knew and he loved dearly.
