Irene and Rose watched Vivian cry her disappointment out.
She told them what she had said and what he said back.
"I don't think he likes me as I thought " Vivian cried.
Rose was silent as Irene consoled Vivian.
"What's going on?" Arthur asked. He was from his study when he heard someone crying.
"Love, can you help us with something?" Rose looked at Arthur.
He frowned but moved closer.
She told Arthur what was going on and asked for his advice.
"I don't think Arthur's advice will work" Vivian cried remembering the incident about Irene.
Arthur glanced at her with his calm yet irritated green eyes.
"Butterfly I don't think she wants my
help" he said.
"Don't worry about her tell me what you think we should do " Rose was confused too. She had told Harry to accept when Vivian called but he had done the opposite.
"Let her take the dinner to him," Arthur said.
"What does that mean?" Irene asked.
Rose smiled getting what Arthur meant.
She kissed him as she got up from the couch.
"Help me upstairs so I can change," she told Arthur.
They left the living room and went upstairs.
Irene and Vivian were pushing the cart as Rose picked different items from the stalls. They had left for the supermarket after Rose had changed.
Arthur had driven them there and waited in the car.
"What is all this for?" Irene asked.
"Am still in the dark too " Vivian joined in.
Rose finished picking what she wanted and turned to Vivian.
"Your paying for these," she said then walked to the cashier.
Arthur helped them put them into the car and then got in.
He pulled down Rose's seat belt for her then drove off.
Rose directed him to their next destination.
"We are here," she said after they stopped.
The rest looked out only to see apartments.
"Vivian, get out with all the things we bought " She instructed.
"What am I going to do," she asked.
Rose turned to her left side and pointed to an apartment.
"That is Harry place's your going there to cook him the dinner he turned down " she explained.
"But am not a good cook and I didn't tell him I was coming " Vivian protested.
"Then go do your best and tell him it a surprise" Irene pushed her outside the car.
Arthur drove off after she got all the bags out of his car.
Vivian stood at Harry's apartment door for a minute thinking about what to do next. How would Harry react to seeing her there at his door?
But she wanted to see him which was funny since she had denied having feelings for him.
Rose had asked her but she denied only saying he was a friend.
She smiled which friend would worry so much after being turned down by the other.
"Okay girl you can do it," she told herself, finally pressing the doorbell.
Harry opened the door and was shocked to see Vivian in his doorway.
"Vivian " he exclaimed with a smile.
She was carrying groceries while others were down at the door.
"Hi, " she said.
"Come in " he invited her in carrying the other bags.
He led her inside his home towards the kitchen.
"Am sorry if it's awkward for me to come like this but I wanted to cook you dinner"
Harry watched her speak with a smile on his face.
"I would love that " he chuckled.
Vivian felt her heart jump up and down. She smiled back.
She told him the only dish she could make. Which were meatballs and spaghetti.
He left the kitchen to her and went to his room.
Vivian took a long breath and unpack all the groceries. She saw the apron and put it on. She was busy washing the items needed when she heard him return.
He was holding his laptop and some documents.
"I thought you would be bored all alone so I decided to come down and keep you company," he said.
Vivian nodded and continued what she was doing. Harry went back to work on his laptop.
Vivian was immersed in what she was doing since she wanted it to be perfect. Harry on the other hand had failed to concentrate on his work and was stealing glances at Vivian.
His face was plastered with a smile as he watched her work.
Was this Rose's magic after listening to her? But he had failed to go follow the bit of their plan since he was really busy. But who knew Vivian would decide to come to cook him dinner instead.
This was a chance he wasn't going to let go of. This was a sign that she liked him too.
Harry chuckled thinking about it.
Vivian turned to him when she heard him.
"Is something wrong?" she asked.
"No," he said.
Harry finished his work and closed his laptop. Vivian was also done with cooking asking him to set the table.
Vivian looked outside and realized it was already dark. Did she take that long to make a simple dinner?
Harry was amazed by the delicious meal he was having. She had claimed not to be an expert in the kitchen but with every bite he had, Harry thought otherwise.
"The food tastes amazing " he commented.
"I did my best " Vivian thanked him.
Harry bought in a bottle of wine after their meal, asking her to join him for a glass before she left.
"Am not good at drinking so one glass is the limit " she told him
"That is something you share with your sister " Harry laughed pouring her a glass.
"So when did you became friends with Rose?" Vivian asked.
Harry sipped his wine and told Vivian about his past with Rose.
"It was after my parents went bankrupt that we moved to their neighborhood," he said.
He had seen Rose then and they turned into friends from school. He was her only friend then since they always moved together.
"That night destroyed our lives, my best friend was in a coma while I had to take the blame cause we needed the money," he said.
He sighed.
"After she got better, Rose always came and visited me when she got the time " Harry finished his glass.
Vivian leaned forward pouring him another.
She knew he was innocent but her memory had failed to return. And Harry had accepted the burden on his own.
"I came out with a wish of reuniting with Rose but after I saw here with Arthur I gave up " he laughed.
He felt sad talking about his past so he asked Vivian about hers even though Irene had told her almost everything.
"I can't say my past is any good since I locked horns with Rose for Arthur," said Vivian.
"And my alliance with Archie had almost resulted in a miscarriage for Rose " she added.
As she told him about her wrong doings Vivian didn't discover she was on her third glass.
"Being given another chance through being her sister was the best thing that happened to me " Vivian hiccupped.
Harry chuckled at her now red ears.
"I think am drunk " she laughed.
Harry nodded in approval.
She tried getting up but fell back down.
"Are my ears red?" she asked.
Harry nodded again.
Vivian frowned looking at his smiling face.
Harry got up, "Let me get my keys and jacket so I can drop you home," he said leaving the living room.
Vivian turned around looking for her bag but could not see it. Her shoes were missing too.
Harry returned but found her down on the floor looking for something.
"What are you looking for down there?" he asked.
She looked up now her whole face was blushing.
"I can't find my heels " she cried.
