Ralph walked into his sister's room, it had been a month now and no change had happened with her.
Nathan had confessed to having caused the accident. Arthur had wanted to kill him immediately but was stopped by Sean. He was now somewhere none of them knew.
Even though it hurt him seeing her like that, his life and the rest had to continue as they waited for her to wake up.
He had visited Alex's home and told her parents about their plans for getting married, they were so happy to hear some good news after his sister's accident.
Arthur, Sean, and Irene all congratulated them both, they tried to smile even though they knew someone special was missing.
Arthur had tried to stay with her for the first weeks, just laying next to her. Watching her lay motionless without any hope of waking up.
Sean and his parents had watched him for so long that they convinced him to return to his normal life, his son had to be with one of his parents and since Rose wasn't able to, Arthur had to fill that place.
Little Arthur helped his father not drown in sadness and guilt of hurting his wife. Arthur later decided to go back to work but still visited her every time.
"Sister I hope you can wake up soon and attend my wedding in person " Ralph murmured to her.
He would give anything to see her wake up and smile. But he knew they just had to wait.
He was told g her hand when Arthur came in with his son. His nephew had started to mutter a few weird words which always made him smile.
"Hi, just arrived?" Arthur asked Ralph.
"Yah just a minute ago. But leaving for surgery soon " he said.
Arthur passed his son to Ralph as he changed the flowers in the vase next to his wife's bed.
He then took Arthur back and sat next to her.
Little Arthur pushed away his father's arms as he tried climbing up onto his mother.
He mutters something close mom, but they both were not sure but smiled.
He had been doing that since his father started bringing him to the hospital. He played with his mother's hair as he uttered weird words.
"I want to bring her home," Arthur told Ralph.
"You can as long as everything needed for her to stay breathing is set in the house," Ralph said.
"That's easy for me to arrange "
Ralph smiled as he stood up he said " I almost forgot my sister married one of the richest men in the country " he walked out of the room.
Arthur watched him walk out and chuckled, he was right. He was the richest man in the country.
His eyes moved to his wife wiping the smile off his face.
Yes, he was the richest man in the country, but good was it if it didn't help him make his wife get better. His heart broke once more when he thought about it.
He had wondered how he had been holding on for a whole month. Was it hope that she would soon wake up even after the doctors saying it might not be possible or was it his adorable little angel beside him all the time. He was playing beside her without any worry but happiness for being close to her.
Irene had been depressed since the accident, Sean had been there for her but it still didn't help. Rose had been a part of her, that when she wasn't there. She felt so empty and sad.
Work didn't help and so did crying. Sean was so worried about her that he had suggested her moving back in.
But with his crazy mother still hating her, she decided to stay put.
"Hi love, " Sean walked into her bakery.
"Hi"
"Busy day?" he asked
"Yeah, just finished the last one " she hugged him as he hugged her back.
Her mind had been filled with pain and images of her and Rose.
"Arthur called me today," Sean told Irene about Arthur's plan of moving Rose back home.
"I agree with him, it will help her feel more loved in a familiar environment " Irene agreed.
"Ralph and Alex's wedding has been brought to a nearer date "
"Why?" she asked.
Sean shook his head, " I don't know but the only reason I can think of is he thinks that she might not survive this coming week "
Irene frowned when he heard what he said, was her friend really not ever waking up.
What had happened all of a sudden, Rose had got what she wanted, a loving husband and a beautiful son. Her future was so bright that Irene felt proud to call her friend.
But it came with the price of being targeted by her husband's crazy enemies he had made with time. Irene looked up at Sean and wondered if she could overcome his burdens.
Her eyes teared up and she started crying, was she strong enough to fight just like her friend and never give up being with the man she loved.
But now her life was between life or death.
Sean saw her cry, he didn't ask why she was crying but hugged her instead with all the love he had for her.
"Ever since Arthur laid eyes on Rose, his been changing slowly by slowly. He used to be someone who was so cold that only those who were so bold could get what they wanted from him. She changed into someone I wanted to see for the rest of my life, but now that she's in a coma with little hope am worried he might lose it " Sean explained.
Irene lifted her face and murmured, " he still has his son "
"Yeah, his son has been the only thing still holding him together, but what if Rose dies and.." Irene pushed him away instantly.
He knew it wasn't right to say it, everyone had been avoiding the word, even Ralph her doctor now hadn't used it. But if he didn't say it, they would live in denial.
"Love, you guys need to accept the fact that Rose might never wake up, that's why Arthur has decided to bring her home and Ralph with Alex changed their wedding date. Her body is slowly weakening that they have to accept it "
"But we can give her more time and wait. Those hospital machines can still keep her alive " She cried.
"But soon they won't, her body was hurt so badly. She has been under their support for all this month but no change. It's like she's in a vegetable state " Sean didn't want to say more since it hurt her so bad.
He pulled her closer and held her until she stopped crying.
"I just want my best friend back " She cried.
