Victoria used her father's connections to enter the hotel where the evening party was being held. She moved around grabbing the men's attention in her well-fitted mermaid dress.
She moved around greeting her father's old friends as she waited for Arthur to arrive.
Rose was holding Arthur's hand out of nervousness, it was her third time being in the public with Arthur. Her second time was a disaster she didn't want to remember. But Arthur's life was always in the spotlight and her being his future wife, she had to learn how to be in one in the spotlight with him.
She looked down on her body covered in a cream gown.
The driver stopped the car and announced their arrival at the hotel.
Arthur gave her a reassuring smile and held her hand as they moved out of the car.
They were covered with flashes of cameras from different photographers who wanted to get a glimpse of them.
Rose was dressed in a cream ball gown, a flair at the waist and a lace floor touching skirt. Her black hair was tired from behind exposing her long beautiful delicate neck. She gave off a stunning aura.
Arthur wore a black suit that hugged his body perfectly, showing off his long shoulders and masculine body with his hair combed back he gave off a rich businessman aura.
They both disappeared into the hotel grounds leaving the outside crowd in admiration.
"Butterfly you really look breathtaking tonight " Arthur complimented her.
Rose smiled as she pulled his hand so he could stop talking. They moved into the hall where they were welcomed by the other guests.
Rose had never liked being the center of attention but whenever she was with Arthur, she always wanted to be the center.
Everyone in the hall kept their eyes on her as they moved around greeting them and consulting them on the birth of their son.
"Mr. Ramon, I have to say you had a good eye when you choose her to be your companion " one guest said to Arthur.
Arthur smiled and thanked him.
"Am just lucky she was willing to be by side " he said at the guest.
Rose blushed under their gaze as the two men laughed.
Victoria was having a drink when the hall fell silent. She turned around and realized it was because Arthur and Rose had arrived.
Arthur looked ravishingly handsome, Victoria moved her eyes and landed to Rose who was right beside Arthur.
If someone saw her for the first time they would not believe she was a mother but a woman in her teens. She looked gorgeous in the ball gown.
Victoria felt even more jealous of her as she saw them move around smiling and chatting to the guests.
Arthur moved not realizing that they were heading to Victoria's table. He saw her perfectly molded face hold a smile as he came closer.
He wanted to turn around and leave but she called out his name attracting Rose's attention.
Rose stared at her face and smiled.
"Hello Victoria " Rose voiced out surprising Arthur.
Arthur stared at her as her innocent face held a fake dangerous smile he had last seen at Vivian's home. He wondered how she had found out about Victoria after him trying his very best to hide it.
"We meet again, but this time in a more comfortable place not like the last time when you attacked me in the restrooms " Rose's smile widen as her blue eyes hid her anger.
Victoria was dumbfounded at her speech towards her. She wondered why Rose was talking about their first encounter in the restrooms in front of people.
"She's really crazy " Victoria said underneath her breath.
The people around her table looked at her as they wanted for her to answer back to Rose.
"It seems you not in the mood to talk, maybe we will chat later " Rose said.
"I..I just wanted to say hi to Arthur since we are childhood sweethearts " Victoria answered back.
Rose's moved her head and looked at Arthur. He had turned dead silent the moment she had answered back Victoria.
"Honey I think you should say hi to her " She said.
Arthur coughed, finding his voice and said hello to Victoria.
"Well if that is done, I think Victoria will let us go then. You know Arthur is the host of the event so he has to attend to other guests too, now if you can excuse us " Rose pulled the startled Arthur away from Victoria's table.
Victoria was speechless after what Rose had done that she almost spilled the wine onto her dress.
She pulled Arthur away from the crowd to a private space and asked,
"Arthur, why are you so silent?"
"When did you find out?" he asked
"Irene told me about her after she made an appearance in the company "
"Butterfly I know I hurt you whenever I keep secrets but some I just want to protect you " Arthur held her hand.
"But it makes me feel useless if you can't share with me your pain and secrets. Sometimes the best solution is letting it out " Rose moved her hands and held Arthur's face.
His green eyes stared into her blue ones.
"Some secrets are hard to let out since am scared they might tear us apart "
"Why don't you trust the love we share, whatever it is we might be able to pass through it together, okay " Rose came closer to him.
Arthur kissed her red lips and nodded.
He knew sooner or later he would have to tell her but he was just being selfish and scared of the consequences.
"I love you butterfly " he whispered.
" I love you too, Arthur " she answered back as he held hugged her.
Arthur thought about how she had talked back at Victoria and laughed.
"Why are you laughing? " Rose asked
"I loved the way you acted back there. It was scary but arousing too " Arthur commented.
Rose smiled and winked at him.
"I always have a fierce side for such hypocrites, you just don't know it yet "
"I think she's the one who always leaves my lips bleeding "
Rose knowing what he meant laughed as well.
"We will talk about this after we get home " Rose whispered to him as a guest came towards them.
