"Tomorrow I was planning to go shopping with Alex for the baby stuff, we haven't bought anything, " Rose told Arthur.
He was having a shower whiles she was drying her hair. He came out all wet making him look sexy, Rose turned away.
"I know we haven't bought anything since we are always business, but why choose Alex when am here?" Arthur asked.
"Your way busy than me at the company, and during weekends we are always doing something else. So I decided not to bother you and go with Alex "
Arthur was always busy with business deals, meetings, and documents she decided not to bother him.
Arthur got a towel and dried his body and looked at Rose through the mirror she was facing.
"Butterfly if I can't be able to make time for my child, I won't be a good father. My father used to miss important meetings and deals just so he could attend every important event in my life while I grew up. So I want to be like him, even more, if I can "
"So you want to go with me? " Rose asked.
"Yeah, tell Alex the father of the baby has more rights than her " Arthur told her.
She smiled and said "Am happy my child will have a father just like the grandfather"
"My father was a scumbag and a cheat," she told Arthur how her father was never there. He was always out gambling and even when he appeared it was money he wanted.
She had thrown him out once, but her mother cried telling her he was still their father. She hated him so much for making her mother cry.
When he left with all her mother's savings and disappeared her mother cried the whole night.
"I trusted him with all my heart, but he cheated me. I left my family just for him but now he leaves me behind " her mother said that night.
A tear escaped from her eyes as she remembered the past. The joy she had received after meeting Arthur had covered up her painful past.
Her mother had tried her best to look after them. She worked day and night to feed and clothe them, when she finally opened up the bakery their lives became a little better.
She was able to complete her studies at a good university and her brother was able to finish high school.
But she failed to get a job no matter how she tried, it worried her mother so much that she started asking her customers for help since most worked in huge companies, but to no avail.
Her part-time jobs started soon after, they treated her so badly that she fell ill sometimes, staying at Irene 's place so her mother won't find out. She remembered once her employer ordered her to go get supplies for the restaurant in a heavy storm. Her body had drenched in the rain but she persisted and got the items safely to the restaurant. After which she got terribly sick her mother had begged her to stop working which she did and helped at the bakery.
But later her mother fainted and was admitted to the hospital, where they found out her heart was giving up on her. She had cried her eyes out blaming herself for letting her work in her old age.
It was then she met the loan shark who helped give her the first installment of her mother's surgery, but her brother found out when he saw her work more part-time jobs in order to pay the debt.
He was angry that he trashed his office and threatening to call the police if he saw his sister back there. But luckily she had paid off the loan.
She saved her salary, the bakery 'z income but still it wasn't enough, when her brother was busy with his finals she begged the loan shark again who refused but then she met the EDEN owner.
Who gave her the money at the expense of her dignity which later led to Arthur.
She stared at his. handsome face, he was now beside her cleaning her tears.
"Butterfly am sorry you had to suffer like that, how I wish I met you sooner" he hugged her so she could stop crying.
Rose feeling his warm around her with his soothing voice, she instead cried more letting out all her suffering and pain.
Arthur didn't let her go until he felt her head slid off his shoulder, discovering she had fallen asleep he carried her to bed.
He loosened her hands that we're still wrapped around him and covered her.
"Have peacefully dreams, butterfly " he kissed her temple.
The next day she woke up with swollen eyes.
"You cried a lot last night, now you look like a bush baby " Arthur teased her.
"How can I go out looking like this? " Rose whined
Arthur told her not to worry and prepare to leave for the baby's shopping.
They left after lunch with Dorothy who wanted to tag along.
Arthur gave her black shades as they entered the mall to cover her swollen eyes.
They moved from mall to mall buying anything that made them happy.
"Arthur I want a pink crib," Rose said.
"But what if the baby is a boy, he won't look good in pink " Arthur opposed.
They ended up buying a white one.
"I think we should take the blue ones " Rose pointed at the toys
"Why ? awhile ago you wanted pink but now blue. Make up your mind " Arthur mumbled.
"Am confused too, what if I take pink and its a boy " Rose explained.
Dorothy smiled at the young couple.
"I think you should take one of each, just like the presents you received " she advised.
They both smiled and did what she suggested.
Later they were fighting over the size of the baby basin they should take, then the color of bed sheets.
It went on until the shopping was done.
Arthur being a known important figure in the country, they were offered only the best as they shopped. Some who recognized him took pictures of them and posted them.
Rose enjoyed every moment they spent shopping, Arthur had participated in every little detail which made her feel his love for the baby. After getting everything they felt they needed and wanted they left the mall all smiles.
"THE HEIR OF THE OLDEST AND RICHEST FAMILY IN THE COUNTRY ARTHUR RAMON, WAS SEEN TODAY SHOPPING WITH HIS FUTURE WIFE ROSE WEST FOR BABY CLOTHES, ITS SEEMS THEY ARE EXCITED ABOUT THEIR FIRST CHILD " the news anchor announced.
Pictures were shown, they displayed them smiling and laughing as they bought baby items. They looked so good together, as they moved around the mall. They were so immersed in what they were doing that they didn't notice pictures of them being taken.
Vivian had wondered why Arthur hadn't come to work, but when she saw the news she immediately knew why.
"That bitch is stealing my spotlight, its me who has to be the future wife not her " She yelled not being able to control her anger.
"Let us see how long you will last " Vivian smiled.
The family dinner of the Ramon family was coming soon and she planned to shame her there. Knowing the family was respected through the country, it was going to host important people so if she Rose embarrassed Rose in front of them, she wouldn't be able to be accepted as the future daughter in law of the family.
"Did you find him ?" Vivian asked through the phone.
"Yes, and his willing to say anything as long as you pay him "the other replied.
" Good " Vivian smirked.
