As usual Calter was impatient on scenes like this. For him, it was too much of a waste of time. From his father and Kel's exchange he already has some general idea on the two Clan's connections. He also knew that there was no room for a good talk or negotiation
Calter stood up on his seat and looked at Kence "stay here" he said and the youth doesn't have a choice but to nod his head and shot his master with a worrying look
Seeing the impulsive and cruel youth standing from his chair and walking to the direction of two parties on a heated discussion. The Nobles can't help but feel some pity for Kel and the Shan Clan
If it was before, they would be worried for the Sternix Clan but seeing how the City Lord didn't play by the rules and sided on Calter's Clan. Their pity was now directed to the Shan Clan
"Sigh. They should have attended early"
"You're right, if they saw the scene before would they act like this?"
"A pity that another Noble Clan will face such humiliation"
"Yeah, as a Noble I can't help but feel like we are too easy to bully"
The Nobles chatted with themselves. Although they didn't spoke loudly but it was still heard by Kel and his company. This made them confused. They should be pitying for the Sternix Clan but it seems like they are the one receiving that pity
Even if the Sternix Clan possessed the City Lord's badge they should at least give some face to a Marquees Clan, right? After all, the Shan Clan is one of the major forces in the City. Even the City Lord won't necessarily offend them at normal times. But the three will soon know how wrong they are
Calter easily reached his father's position causing Kel and the two to raise their eyebrows while looking at him. This was a dispute between the two heads of the Clan, it isn't a junior's place to meddle
However, Calter was not someone who cared about seniority or whatever shits. He can afford to be arrogant, at least while inside the Soaring Magic City because he has the most powerful backing
Calter coldly looked at the people from the Shan Clan. If he has his former power, he can easily kill these three. Too bad, he can only rely on the City Lord to act this unbridled
A pure black magic wand appeared on Calter's hand and he pointed it arrogantly on Kel's position while pouring his mana on it
"[Dark Magic: Darkness Ball!]" Calter's signature spell appeared and five acid balls hovered in front of his wand before shooting it to the members of the Shan Clan
Although the three were shock that a junior actually dared to attack them in front of so many people, they are all Magic Knights after all and this kind of weak spell won't be able to hurt them
They just used raw mana to destroy Calter's spell easily while staring daggers at the youth. This is a huge slap on their face and they won't let him off easily!
"You three are an eyesore. Scram and don't come back in our Clan. The trash Shan Clan doesn't have the right to enter our lands!"
Calter's voice echoed in the whole Clan shocking the Shan Clan's men from his arrogance. The other Nobles weren't surprise though. Calter already treated the Khan Clan like shit, how can he be afraid of the Shan Clan who at most have similar power to that Clan?
The City Lord that was already forgotten by the people around face palmed himself. This Calter didn't care who he offended at all. Otto felt like he was some janitor that needs to always clean the mess that Calter made. But if he doesn't want to lose a Marquees Clan, he can only let Calter do what he wants and humiliate these prideful people
It would be a tragedy if Otto lose such a force under him. Besides, he can't blame Calter for his actions. He was also annoyed at how these Nobles act. If his City doesn't need these Clans, he would exterminate them on his own
"How can you call our Clan as trash?! We are more powerful than your little Sternix Clan!" Kel bite back to Calter's vicious words. His Clan is his pride, how can he allow a mere Magic Apprentice to sully it?
"I'm just stating facts, get away from here if you don't want to embarrass yourself further!" Calter said annoyed before launching another Darkness Ball of his
It was like an ant's bite but when a human was bit by ants not just once but twice, how can they not get annoyed? The three stared furiously at Calter. If they don't have the City Lord's badge, the three would have already attacked Calter. But looking at how angry the three are, it seems like any moment from now they will lose their minds and attack with their powerful magic
Seeing how his son acted, Narry let out a loud laugh that entered the ears of all the people around. His laughter further ignited the Shan Clan's fury and it became the reason for their patience to break
"[Dark Magic: Demon Phantom!]" A spell circle appeared on Kel's raging hands and a demon like phantom emerge from it. All of its body were made from black fogs with inhuman eyes and mouth
The demon was not a summon creature and not a real living creature but was only made by controlling the principles of magic and was fueled by mana
The City Lord shook his head in helplessness. It seems like his reputation weaken these past few years that he didn't made much actions. The Sternix Clan still possessed his badge and was under his protection. To think the Nobles would be too fearless to attack them when angered, he needs to make the people remember his power!
Calter made trouble for him but seeing how the Nobles acts, he guessed that it was time to show his fangs again and let the Nobles remember why he became the City Lord in the first place
It wasn't because of him being wise, smart, or kind. Although he wasn't idiotic but even in the City there are a lot of people much smarter than him. The real reason Otto got his position was because he was the only in the City that reached the Grand Knight Rank since the former City Lord
It was his might that earned him his current position!
"[Ice Magic: Ice Wall!]" The City Lord didn't even used his wand and a cold blue light was shot out from his palm. The light landed in front of Calter and his parents
The Demon Phantom Spell hit the ice wall but it wasn't powerful enough to destroy a defensive spell that the City Lord himself made
Kel with an angry look turned his head to where the mana fluctuations came from that activated such a spell. But when he saw the old man full of white hairs on his head, he immediately swallowed the foul words he wants to say
"City Lord" Kel, along with the two Knights on his side greeted the City Lord and bowed respectfully at him
"This matter ends here. You may go now" the City Lord said in a nonchalant manner as if it was just a trivial thing
Well, for him it wasn't that important but for the Shan Clan it was a matter of dignity and pride! They can't let things end from here. If not, then they would be a disgraced for the Clan
"City Lord, this pair of father and son humiliated our Clan. We cannot allow things to end like this. Please allow us to get back our dignity" although Kel's tone was respectful but it was filled with unwillingness
The City Lord rolled his eyes at hearing his words. In the first place, it was their fault that they got humiliated. They already said that the Sternix Clan didn't invite them on this Banquet but they still attended. Not just attended but they had such a flashy entrance
Just letting out their aura was already a provocation to the Sternix Clan. Not just that, they also acted as if the act of letting Narry and his family to go back in the Shan Clan is made out of love
Everyone here knows that they only want to gain the City Lord's backing and not let that Sternix Clan to suppress or surpass them. Yet, they made it sound like such a magnanimous act
The City Lord was about to force them to scram but he suddenly thought of something and looked at Calter with a mischievous look. This kid act like that because he knew that Otto will help him. But the City Lord feared that Calter might get used to using other people's power to make things on his favor
Even on his true disciple Caizha he didn't allow her to rely too much on her master
Calter narrowed his eyes as he feels that the City Lord planned something for him
"Okay, I understand your concern. If you want to regain your face then let one of your clan members to fight with Calter one week for now"
This was a good chance to show to Calter that the City Lord cannot do everything for him. There are times that Calter needs to act himself and resolve things
Kel's eyes lit up before realizing something and turned his head to look at Calter with a dark face. He is a Magic Knight and remembering Calter's spell, he realized that a Rank 0 Level 1 Spell actually has the power of a Rank 0 level 3 Spell
This means that Calter's current comprehension was high. The spells that Magic Apprentice uses were readily available for them and they only need to learn the spell itself. It's like you gave a gun with bullets to a kid. To use the gun the kid only needs to learn how to pull the trigger
But once a Mage become a Magic Warrior, things are different. Spells that has the same name, appearance, or effects will have different might!
The mage needs to make a spell on their own to become a Magic Warrior and they mostly use the spells that was personally made. Magic Apprentices only learned how to use a gun but Magic Warriors and above even learned how to make a gun and modify it giving the spell stronger powers
If Calter can modify a level 1 Spell to have the power of level 3 Spell then how monstrous his comprehension is?
From what Kel knows, no one in the entire City can do that except for Calter!
At first, he thought that this was the City Lord's way of letting the Shan Clan regain their faces easily but it turned out that it was hard!
There are a lot of fifteen years old at mid or high-level Magic Apprentices but the ones that has the magic comprehension at or above their level was extremely few! The Shan Clan can only let a fifteen-year-old level 4 Magic apprentice and above with high enough comprehension to battle Calter. If they let Calter fight a Mage at his level then no doubt that Calter will easily win!
Calter laughed at hearing the City Lord's words. He also realized what his goal is. It seems like always using Otto's influence caused the City Lord to become concern on him
But Calter will shock them. Whether it be the City Lord or the Shan Clan both of them thinks that Calter's chances of winning is 50/50. But one week from now, Calter will reached level 4 Magic Apprentice and his power will skyrocket
That's ten times amount of mana of normal level 4 Mage. Having the skill to use powerful spells were never an issue for Calter. The only problem was the amount of mana he can use!
But if he broke through, who in the younger generation of Shan Clan can fight him? He has absolute confidence that he can crush all fifteen-year-old mages in the City!
