"I found what you were looking for." Dominico's voice carried over the line smoothly. "It used to be a hotel. Fifteen floors, thirty rooms per floor, dirt cheap price. It's being auctioned."
"Why is it up for sale?" I placed my phone on the counter and set the volume to speaker mode so I could use my free hands to transfer some fruit salad from the bowl in the refrigerator to my personal bowl which already contained yoghurt and some expensive brand of granola. A refreshing breakfast was exactly what I needed.
"The previous owners didn't comply with some health codes so the city had it shut down."
"Nothing else?"
"Nope. History's clean. And it's in a great location."
It seemed great. A little too great. I was suspicious.
"How much?"
"Five hundred thousand."
"Jesus. Did they file bankruptcy or something?"
