"So, this is my gift to you." Moira was beaming, holding out a black, medium sized box that obviously contained shoes in them. Francesca looked at the box and gingerly plucked it from her hands, using a razor sharp stiletto nail to rip down the wrapping paper and open it.
The box was plain, not a logo anywhere to give away what brand the shoes were. Again, Francesca looked at her with a cautious gaze, but Moira simply ushered her to hurry up with her hands.
I snickered behind my mug as Francesca became speechless, staring at the diamond studded heels sitting in the box like it was the last pearl on earth.
"Don't ask me how much they cost," Moira said, obviously wanting someone to ask her how much the gift cost. "They're priceless so wear them well."
My aunt was still speechless, but I could've sworn I saw her eyes mist over a little.
