"For the last time," I was unbelievably close to rolling my eyes and walking out of the board room for good. "We cannot vote in a new CEO. My husband's arrest will not hinder his position in this company because he is innocent."
"Then why hasn't he been released yet?" Of course Mrs. Gilman had something to say. I forgot how annoying she was when she wasn't useful. "He was arrested on multiple charges, he must be guilty!"
"I'm working on having him released. In the meantime, this is a temporary setback and should not stir up so much mutiny between us. Jason Greene will be cleared of all charges, and he will return to his office, and we will have this company soaring through the clouds for his return."
"Well we need to act fast because we're feeling the flames of hell on our asses," CFO Smith said quickly. "Even if not permanently, I insist we vote you in for interim CEO, at least until President Greene's return."
