'My feet are killing me.'
Grumbling silently to myself, I leaned against the wall to adjust the ankle straps of my heels for the umpteenth time since I'd put them in. I was quickly regretting not taking the time to add comfort pads to the soles. My ankles were on the brink of death and I wasn't sure if they'd ever be resurrected again.
After making sure everything was fine with my shoes, I stumbled into the bathroom to relieve myself. It was empty, smelled like pears and I quickly found the closest stall to pull my dress up.
Going to the bathroom in a luxurious gown with a train was a task and a chore, but I gathered the soft fabric in my arms and did what I had to do, making sure everything was clean and where it needed to be as I walked out to wash my hands.
With my business complete, I left the bathroom and considered whether or not to play a game. I loved card games but I wasn't sure if tonight was the right occasion to play or not.
