Time felt like an enormous blur. Between going to see my husband, taking care of Mason, completing my prenatal check-ups and running the company, I was busier than a worker bee during its final moments. I had gone about submitting a request for Mason's name-change—with Jason's permission, of course— and according to the courts, things were looking up. It seemed like everything was falling into place for the holiday seasons, especially Thanksgiving.
Now, I had taken the day off to finish cooking for the dinner later today, Mason in his little rocking chair, and my co-workers on the speakerphone on the table giving each other a rundown of what business looked like lately.
"We have a second downward spike in project bookings this trimester. Our overall down in the past six months has been ten percent."
