'I still don't believe this is all real.'
Looking at his small pale fingers and short legs, Leis thoughts couldn't help but drift.
Being a teen, he thought about this situation many times before but never actually believed it will come true. He actually reincarnated and now he was already here for a week moreover in an eight-year-old child's body. While it would be a lie to say he wasn't flabbergasted in a happy way, one thought always bugged him.
"Everything's good and all, but where's my fucking cheat?" He screamed at the top of his lungs, scaring the nearby children.
[Cheat Activated]
"What? Which hole spoke just now?" He looked around in suspicion. Knowing all the children from the orphanage, he was sure they didn't have guts to speak to him.
[Shut up idiot! Don't you dare disrespect me!]
"Disrespect? Show you ass fucker, see if I don't kick it with my number five shoes!" Giving in to his anger he yelled but then suddenly realization hit him.
"You couldn't be..."
[That's right fucker! I am your fucking cheat!]
Instantly kowtowing to ground with a shivering body, Leis prayed, "oh Dear Cheat, I desire someone as mighty as thee didn't taketh insults from me, the imbecile."
[First time, so it's forgiven]
Not bothered by weird look everyone was giving him, he licked his lips in anticipation as he heard the voice. He couldn't understand if the voice was from a male or female.
"So what's my cheat? Is it the mighty sword Excalibur or a bloodline with which I can shoot Kamehameha?"
[It's not as ordinary as that. Your cheat is a system]
"My god! For real?" Leis nose lifted in excitement.
[Yeah. What type of system you will get, we will know after I do a thorough checkup. It will take a day. Until then]
The voice cut abruptly, after that whatever Leis said, no reply came.
"My time is here, fuckers! Haha.." His guffaw came to a stop when he saw nun from orphanage coming towards him angrily.
"Leis, just what happened to you? After you woke up from that accident a week ago, you have completely changed. Why don't you play with your mates here and I have even heard of you even bullying some of them, what is this about?!"
Getting bombarded by the nun, Leis eyelids went heavy.
"One question at a time sister. Like I told you, I have lost my memories a week ago, that may be why I don't act as I previously did. And these brats want to play hide and seek, I ain't up for that!" Taking a deep breath, he continued, "finally, who's the one who said I was bullying? Take me to him/her, Imma fix that brat's mouth."
"Enough! Aren't you a brat as well for not listening whenever I called for you to eat? Come with me, I can't bear to take care of you anymore."
Gripping Leis's hand, the nun started pulling him inside the orphanage.
"Where are we going?"
"You have been far too mischievous, we are going to talk to Head Nun Christa."
"What?" If there was one person whom Leis feared, it was Head Nun Christa.
'Fuck! It's that creepy onee-san vibe woman."
On the way to Head Nun's office, Leis used all sorts of methods to make the damn nun change her mindset but...there they were anyway.
"Knock! Knock!"
"Head Nun, it's me."
Shortly afterward, a melodious yet cold voice responded, "You can come in."
The middle-aged nun face contorted hearing Head Nun's voice. It seems like they weren't on good terms. Her expression eased rather quickly, and she entered the room while pulling him.
The first thing Leis noticed was the wonderful smell of incense. The office was a small 10x10m room, although it might seem big with Earth's standard, it was average here. Inside the office were a big maple wood table, a chair, and some shelves.
Behind the table was a woman sitting on the chair. She was wearing the black nun dress, her face almost covered completely with veil. Only her pink lips and beautiful chin were visible. Her lips were the only clue as to what she might be thinking, but even then most of the time it was neutral, rarely showing different stretches.
Not bothering to pull her head from some parchment, Head Nun inquired, "what is it?"
The Middle-aged nun grinded her teeth seeing Head Nun's behaviour but nonetheless replied, "head Nun, recently this kid has gotten a lot mischievous, he doesn't listen to anybody. There are even some children complaining about him being a bully. I hope you give him an appropriate punishment."
Head Nun didn't reacted for some time after listening to her rambling. After some seconds, she finally lifted her face and faced him. She stayed like that for some time as if scrutinising him. After what seemed like eternity for Leis, she asked, "Is it true?"
Gulping hid builtup saliva he didn't how he was holding in, he replied, "Partially, yes. I do have been skipping some food since they were not to my liking but I made sure to eat enough to not get malnutrition. And something about me being a bully...its nothing but fart." As he spoke, he slowly got comfortable enough to slip what he deemed was his natural language. Fortunately Head Nun didn't seem to mind it.
"I see. Klurkin also said you not playing with other children because it's childish to you," she coldly continued, "tell me, is there something else you are interested in?"
"...actually there is something." He didn't know how he ended up in this situation or what this Onee-san is about, but he wouldn't let go of this golden chance.
"Say it, I will see to it."
During the whole conversation, Middle-aged nun or Klurkin was just looking back and forth. One can easily tell she was angry after being ignored, her fists balled up.
"I want to learn how to write." Because there were no libraries or alike around, he wasn't able to solve this basic problem. From this kids three-four year of memories, he was able to speak but that's all.
"That's...an unusual request. But it's something that can be full-filled. From tomorrow onwards, come meet me after sunset. I will teach you."
"Y-you will?" He didn't know why but he couldn't help but ask.
"Yeah. Is there any problem?" Her voice dropped several degrees in the room.
"N-no."
"Good. But if you can't keep up with my speed, I will not help you afterwards. One hour of my lesson will be enough to keep you occupied for at least day time.
"That's all, you can go now."
She waved her hand and again got back to work.
Even though he could see Karklin was far from being satisfied—she didn't dare raise objection—no one ever did.
After coming out of office, Karklin just stared at him for some time before stomped her way away.
"What a crazy woman." Looking at her back, Leis muttered.
Not having the mood for dinner, he went directly to his room. It was being shared by three people but no one bothered with him, well, he couldn't have asked for any better.
While laying on the bed, Leis recounted the information he has about this world.
'This World/Planet is known as 'Mistaken Land'. Quite a eccentric name. Anyway, the water to land ratio is 6:4.
'The lands are divided into eight big Continents, each separated by the oceans. The Continent I am in is called 'Drefia Continent' also known as North-East Continent. The name itself justifies the location of this continent. In this continent there are five empires. I am in 'Qimor Empire'. The history of this empire is over tens of thousand of years. Even though it existed for so long, it's the weakest among all other empires.
'Honestly, there wasn't in this kid's memory but one thing I found is quite fascinating. Its that this world has something called cultivators, they are like those in chinese novels I used to read. Supposedly, people can fly and even live for thousands of years if their cultivation is high enough. I wonder if I can become one?—Definitely. Tomorrow I will get that sweet system and become strong enough to rule this Mistaken Land.'
With his fantasies going wild, Leis drifted into sleep.
